What looked to be a child-like puzzle game turned in to being quite a challenge. In fact, some of the puzzle levels came to be downright difficult! A few in particular were ‘Frost Breath’, ‘Mirror, Mirror’ and the ‘Final Battle.’ In fact, besides the first couple of challenges, all levels provided some major dilemmas. Graphics: 8 The graphics of this game were appealing, but nothing extraordinary. The environments were colorful, with a cartoon appeal. With the use of shading and lighting effects, each location offered a unique appeal. Sound: 9 The sound effects varied from humorous to revealing a sense of danger. Furthermore, each tool used or item found offered it’s own unique effect. Each effect used matched well with the various settings the game had to offer. Difficulty: Hard Concept: 10 The concept of the game offered one of the most unique gaming experiences I have been able to experience. Each puzzle that was encountered offered its own unique perspective on how a solution must be reached. The goal was to find all of the famous pirate Barbaros’ treasure. However, that was only part of the challenge; for when you obtained all of his pieces, he has a change of heart. Then the game becomes a battle to retain his treasure and the sacred bell. Overall: 10 This game went far beyond any expectations I had; as shown in the difficulty level, this game was more than challenging. Some of the puzzles were downright sadistic in their difficulty! With that in mind, the game had an addictive quality, for if a solution was difficult to reach, you tried again and again until a resolution was found. Objectives Completed: 25 Items Collected: 138 Hirame Q Earned: $3, 688, 200
