As I’m sure you’re aware, the site has been growing tremendously over past months. As a result, we are looking for interested individuals who have a passion for games and writing. We are looking for promising, young writers who have a strong desire to succeed and gain experience in the industry. You’ll have the opportunity to work with our experienced staff and have your work showcased in front of our vast readership. The following positions do receive monetary compensation; however, these are an entry level position and the pay is below typical market value. We are a growing and young site, so we do expect wages to rise in time.
Positions Available:
TGR News Reporter: Reporters work directly with the News Director to cover news that isn’t already circulating about the Internet. Our goal is to be a source of new information for readers rather than a regurgitation of larger blogs and Web sites. We have a daily news roundup that ensures the major stories of the day don’t fall through the cracks and allows reporters to focus on original work. Reporting experience is preferred but not required. We will train someone who shows potential in pitching new ideas. News staff will also gain valuable experience in the process of conducting interviews and developing contacts.
Requirements:
• A willingness to conduct interviews, gather research and find fresh angles
• Strong communication skills between staff
• Regular, steady commitment. We need someone who can pitch at least one story per day
TGR Feature Writer: Are you the creative or analytical type? Do you have strong opinions and interesting ideas? If so, then a position as a TGR Feature Writer may be for you.
As a Feature Writer, it is your job to absorb every aspect of the video game industry like a sponge, and then use that to produce interesting, cohesive editorials about current events and other interesting topics in gaming. There are also opportunities to participate in larger-scale group features and/or head up your own personal column or serial feature.
Feature writing is one place where the more you put into it, the more you get out of it, and there is no limit to how much you can contribute. If that sounds like your kind of work, then drop us a line.

• Willing to commit to at least 10 hours a week
• The ability to find one’s own stories and news tips
• Ability to write about topics relevant to our readership
Responsibilities:
• Must write cohesively and behave in a professional manner
• Utilize source material to the best of one’s ability in order to create interesting stories from a unique angle
• Writers must be able to keep a steady workflow and meet all deadlines
TGR Staff Writer: TGR Staff Writers work hand in hand with our sites experienced editors to help create the content that fuels our site. They must have a solid understanding of the English Language, as well as the gaming industry. This position is designed to help new journalists break into the industry at the entry level (we do compensate our staff). Our editors will help you improve you craft, as we give you more and more experience and exposure, as you develop your own set of industry contacts. Prior work is not required but is an asset. Staff writers will be asked to focus in one area (news/reviews/features; however will be given the opportunity to work in other divisions)

All staff will have the possibility of attending various exclusive industry events, including E3, PAX and GDC.
