Continuing the tradition of debuting the latest game videos before anyone else, Game Trailers TV will be the first to air footage of the next entry in the Call of Duty series. Host of GTTV Geoff Keighley commented on the announcement saying:

“Considering the incredible reception our hardcore gamer audience has given the GT Diamond Award-winning Call of Duty franchise, we are confident that they’ll go crazy for this never-before-seen footage from Call of Duty: World at War.”

CoD: World at War is being developed by the folks behind the third chapter in the franchise, Treyarch. Although many gamers are intensely skeptical of Treyarch having any chance at surpassing the modern-era multiplayer sensation Call of Duty 4, publisher Activision remains confident that this return to the second Great War will give players a completely new perspective on the Pacific theater, and WWII games in general. We all know that newness and WWII don’t always mix when it comes to videogames, so it will be interesting to see what Treyarch has in store.

GTTV airs Friday night at 1 AM Eastern. In case that’s past your bed time, Microsoft has also announced that the footage will be available to download on the Xbox Live Marketplace this weekend.
