Have you been absolutely chomping at the bit to have another go at blasting apart the Chimera horde? Do you have a giant shrine devoted solely to counting down the seconds until Resistance 2 launches? If so, then Sony wants you, as they have just opened registration for the Resistance 2 public beta.
In order to sign up, players must go to the official page, sign in with their PlayStation Network ID, and fill out an informational sheet. Names are placed into a lottery, and if selected, players will be given a download key. Sony hasn’t stated how many beta keys will be sent out.
The beta will feature both an eight-player co-op mode, as well as a 60-person, squad-based competitive mode. Both modes are new additions to the franchise.
We got to spend a little time with Resistance 2 at E3, and we were very impressed with the caliber of online play. A new XP system, special perks, and clever mission objectives all seem to point to an experience which will be quite impressive once it launches. Of course, that’s what beta tests are for: to get you in there and let you test out all these neat new ideas to see if they actually work. So what are waiting for? Get over to the site and do your civic duty!
