It’s likely that by now you’re so deep into Fallout 3 that you aren’t even thinking about Elder Scrolls. But if those Super Mutants and Feral Ghouls are just reminding you a little too much of ogres and goblins then take heart, as Bethesda is already hard at work on the next game in the Elder Scrolls franchise, and they have a good idea when it will land in your lap.
"At the moment we’ve got Fallout 3 for this year and potentially there’s a new Elder Scrolls title in 2010," said Paul Oughton, Bethesda’s publishing executive. Not too far off -- we may even be finished with Fallout by then, assuming we skip a few optional quests of course.
So now we have a date, but what about platforms? Could this new edition mark the Elder Scrolls’ first foray onto the Wii or even perhaps the DS? Don’t count on it. "At the moment we’re not that interested in the Wii. We’re going to stick to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC," said Oughton.
Ouch, don’t worry though, Wii owners, I’m sure you’ll get your own epic RPG chock full of waggle goodness soon. Just don’t expect it from Bethesda. They’re not interested.
