Resistance 2

Normally, when we talk about lengthy games we’re referring to RPGs--titles like Final Fantasy X or Star Ocean that can literally take over 100 hours to see in their entirety. A genre that doesn’t typically offer long games is shooters, but it seems like Insomniac may want to change all that.

The developer is claiming that if you plan to unlock everything in the game, from finding all the single player extras, to unlocking and maxing out all the multiplayer classes, then it will take you somewhere in the neighborhood of 420 hours. In case you were wondering, that’s 17.5 days straight of playing Resistance 2. That means no eating, no sleeping, no pee breaks, nothing but playing the game. For those looking for a slightly more manageable experience, Insomniac has stated that the single player campaign is roughly 9-11 hours, a.k.a reasonable.

I’m all for replay value, but is anyone out there planning on tackling this mammoth task in its entirety? You’d have to play for months or even years in order to access all this content. At least you can’t say you aren’t getting your $60 worth.
