Note 1:
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz012345678901234567890123456
The 79 characters above should all fit on a single line. If they do not, you
may have trouble reading this guide, as line breaks and spacing may look odd.
Open this document in notepad, wordpad, or a similar program, go to Format-
Font, and make sure that you are using a fixed-width font. Courier New, font
size 10, is ideal.

Note 2:
Regardless of where you are viewing this guide, please visit
http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/file/565101/42454
This website will have the most current and up to date version of my guide that
is available. That way, you can stay constant with the updates (as some
secondary hosts don’t update very frequently) and we can be on the same page if
you don’t understand something in the guide.

Note 3:
The Godfather: The Game is available for six major platforms. However, not all
of these games are identical. In fact, the different versions have numerous
changes in execution styles between them. Despite this, I have made my best
effort to provide you the necessary information, regardless of the system on
which you’re playing this game. Please consult the "Platform Directory" for
more specifics on which execution styles are and are not available for your
version.
I have fully completed the game on the PC and Xbox 360, which effectively
represent two of the three truly different versions of the game. However, when
it comes to the four Wii-only execution styles, I really don’t know more than
the basic description. If you’re having difficulty with these, I would
recommend asking on message boards or consulting:

Locating specific sections in this guide may take unnecessary or undesirable
amounts of time. To facilitate this, I’ve made shortcuts for each sub-section
in the guide. On the right of each section in the contents, there will be a
small code in brackets. Press Ctrl F, and copy this code (brackets included)
into the find menu. Press "find" twice to be instantly taken to the desired
section.

*******************************************************************************
Hello there, reader. My name is Bloviator, and it is my pleasure to guide you
through the wonderful gaming experience that is The Godfather. Whether you’re
a hardcore gamer who considers yourself "1337," a less experienced player who
needs some help with this game, or simply a cat who brought up this guide
because you walked on the keyboard, I’ve provided my services to inform you
about and help you with the execution styles in "The Godfather."
Though I have written numerous guides, help files, tips, and walkthroughs, this
is only the second that I have chosen to submit to an online database. As you
can probably tell, my guide is rather large given the narrow subject material
it covers.
Now you may be wondering, "Why are you bothering to write this guide?" Well,
here’s why:
Recently, The Godfather: The Game message boards have been overrun by numerous
threads asking:
"How do I do ______ execution?"
or, more realistically:
"heY man, hwo is it that im doing that one ecexution? im try to go and kill the
guy but he isnT givin me teh points111 OMG PLZ HLEP!"
While these individuals are responded to quickly, they are soon replaced by
another user asking a similar, or even the same question. Most of the guides
available on gamefaqs describe each of the execution styles. However, they are
not very in-depth, and often leave uncertainty in the gamer’s mind. Some of
them even list incorrect, false, or otherwise misleading information. I’ve
composed this guide in order to create a comprehensive "end-all" explanation
for each and every execution style.
Despite my name, I try to bloviate as little as possible, but still present
as much information as I can. As you read through this guide, you will find
just how in-depth some of my explanations can be. This guide should help you
complete all of the execution styles in the game, and clear up any
uncertainties about them. I’ve made an effort to present all the information I
can, while still giving you the opportunity to do practically anything in this
amazing game. I hope reading this guide allows you to enjoy The Godfather to
its fullest. It’s certainly been a pleasure for me.

Aside from controls and minor graphical differences, the PC, PS2 and Xbox
versions are essentially all the same game. The Xbox 360, Wii ("Blackhand
Edition") and PS3 ("Don’s Edition") versions of the game have additional
content. For the purposes of this guide, the only part of this content that is
of interest is the execution styles. Specifically, the 7th generation (360,
PS3, Wii) versions have more execution styles. Because even these versions are
not identical, I’ve provided a table for clarification:
("X" signifies the presence of the execution style in this version of the game)

As you can see, the PC/PS2/Xbox versions all have 22 execution styles, the
PS3/Xbox 360 versions have 47, and the Wii version has 51. Please note the
asterisks and double asterisks in the above table:
* This execution style is present in the PC/PS2/Xbox versions but is
ABSENT from the PS3/Wii/Xbox 360 versions. The "Grand Slam Execution"
was changed to the "Melee Weapon Execution" and the "Firearm Execution"
was replaced by five separate executions, one for each weapon.
** This execution style exists in all the games, but is not the same
between the PC/PS2/Xbox and PS3/Wii/Xbox 360 versions. Please see the
specific execution description for more information.
See "Matters of Immense Confusion" for more information on these special cases.

- Introduction -
________________
In this section, which makes up the bulk of this guide, I will go over each
execution style in-depth. I will provide you, the reader, with all the
information needed to easily carry out this execution. For each execution
style, I will list the following information:
_____________________________________________________________________________
| | |
| Name | The name of the execution style |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Platforms | Which platforms [have versions of the game that] support |
| | this execution |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Description | A short and concise description of what the execution |
| | style entails |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Triggered | Many executions involve a specific trigger, usually by |
| | pressing the "execute" button. This section will describe |
| | whether the target must be standing or kneeling, or if |
| | there’s no execution trigger at all (just a regular kill). |
| | Note that the Grand Slam Execution and Blackhand Grapple |
| | Execution (PC/PS2/Xbox versions only) can be awarded for |
| | either a regular kill or a triggered kill. Both can be |
| | triggered on a standing or kneeling enemy. |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | While "execution" and "lethal" would appear to be |
| | synonymous, some execution styles do NOT kill the victim. |
| | This entry displays whether or not the victim is required |
| | to be killed in order for the style to be registered. |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Any items required to complete this execution. This can |
| | include weapons and/or objects in the environment (such as |
| | an oven). |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | A comprehensive look at how to best achieve this execution |
| | style. This strategy will highlight multiple possibilities |
| | and ideal opportunities for each style (when applicable). |
| | |
| | Please be aware that unless specifically noted otherwise, |
| | reader-submitted strategies, tips, notes, etc. have not |
| | been verified. Not to criticize or devalue the quality of |
| | this material, but just be aware that it may not be 100% |
| | accurate. |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
Any other issues you may have will, and should be addressed in the Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQ) section of this guide.
PLEASE READ THE "MATTERS OF IMMENSE CONFUSION" AND "FAQ" SECTIONS, AS THEY
CONTAIN INFORMATION WHICH IS EQUALLY, IF NOT MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE FOLLOWING

- Back of the Head Execution -
______________________________
_____________________________________________________________________________
| | |
| Name | Back of the Head Execution |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Platforms | PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Description | Kill a standing enemy by using the execution trigger while |
| | holding a pistol |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Triggered | Yes - Standing |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Pistol |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | The description of this execution style pretty much says |
| | it all. However, you may have trouble if you aren’t used |
| | to using the execution trigger very often. Essentially, |
| | get an enemy to recoil/be stunned while standing, get |
| | close to him, and press the execution trigger. While you |
| | don’t have to stun him using the specified weapon |
| | (pistol), it is recommended. Still, if you’re quick, you |
| | may be able to put him into the "executable" state with a |

| | you’ll end up getting "Hats Off Execution" instead. |

| Strategy | The beginning parts of the game involve numerous fights |
| | with nothing more than fists and fury. The tutorials and |
| | early missions give you ample opportunity to familiarize |
| | yourself with the blackhand fighting system. As a result, |
| | you should have plenty of chances to fight with your bare |
| | hands. When you do so, simply pummel a specific enemy |
| | until he falls to his knees, then press the execution |
| | trigger to mercilessly break his neck. If you need to, you |
| | can use grapples (grabs) and all associated combos to get |
| | him into the "executable" state. Just make sure that he’s |
| | kneeling and that your hands are empty when you press that |
| | trigger. |

| Strategy | In order to be awarded this execution style, you must kill |

| Triggered | No |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Dynamite or Bomb |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | This execution style requires you to kill an enemy by |
| | blowing them up with an explosive device. Dynamite or a |
| | Bomb are your only options here. Dynamite has a shorter |
| | fuse, but also a smaller blast radius. While a bomb’s |
| | massive damage and area of effect can kill an enemy who’s |
| | farther away, its long fuse may give him enough time to |
| | escape. It’s your call, but dynamite is probably a better |
| | bet. It’s cheaper, easier to get and less likely to kill |
| | you |
| | |
| | If you use a Molotov cocktail, you’ll get "Cocktail Hour |
| | Execution" instead. Anyway, the difficulty in getting this |
| | style is that as soon as you throw your explosive, most |
| | nearby gangsters will flee far away. Also, due to the long |
| | fuse on the explosives, they will most likely have time to |
| | get out of the blast radius. |
| | |
| | The recommended strategy to get this style is to kneecap a |
| | gangster, rendering them immobile, then to place the |
| | dynamite/bomb and run. A similar, though riskier strategy |
| | is to place your explosive, then grab a gangster as they |
| | flee. Push them down (forward push or swing toss) towards |
| | the dynamite as the fuse gets below the halfway mark. |
| | Hopefully, by the time they get back on their feet, the |
| | device will have exploded. You may also get this style by |
| | accident if you bomb an enemy business (to end a mob war). |
| | |
| | Another note, you will not get credit for this style if |
| | you die in the same blast that kills your enemy. As such, |
| | make sure that you get clear of the blast radius. This |
| | information may also influence your decision of whether to |
| | use a bomb or dynamite. |
| | |
| | Yet another note (thanks to Zukkus and nobody important): |
| | The Bombs Away Execution style can also be completed using |
| | the explosion from a vehicle, such as a racket truck. |
| | |
| | One more note (thanks to Joshua Grosvenor): Shooting |
| | electrical boxes causes them to explode. If an enemy is |
| | killed by this explosion, you should get credit for "Bombs |
| | Away Execution." |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | In order to be awarded this execution style, you must kill |
| | an enemy by using a bottle. You can find bottles scattered |
| | throughout most buildings on counters, tables, etc. Simply |
| | pick up the bottle and press "fire" to throw it. Be aware |
| | that the bottle itself does very little damage. As a |
| | result, you must make sure to get your enemy right on the |
| | brink of death before attempting the execution. As is the |
| | case with most of the more difficult or engrossing |
| | executions, try to make sure that your intended target is |
| | the only enemy around. Start attacking him with melee |
| | blows to lower his health. As he gets closer to death, try |
| | to move or re-position the combat as close to a bottle as |
| | possible. You can make this easier by knocking your foe to |
| | his knees. This should buy you some more time to pick up |
| | and throw the bottle without being interrupted. When the |
| | enemy is severely hurt (and ideally, on his knees), reach |
| | over, pick up the bottle and throw it at him. |

| | |
| Triggered | Yes - Kneeling |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Two by Four |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | Like many of the other melee execution styles, this one |
| | simply requires you to use the execution trigger on a |
| | kneeling enemy while holding the specified weapon. As |
| | usual, your best bet is to use the two by four both for |
| | the actual kill and also to bring your target to their |
| | knees. Still, you can opt for a debilitating kneecap shot |
| | with another weapon, then switch back for the execution, |
| | if you prefer. The most trouble you’ll probably have with |
| | this execution style is finding a two by four. Unlike the |
| | other melee weapons that are wielded by enemies or |
| | commonly found lying around, the two by four requires a |
| | bit more effort on your part to acquire. |
| | |
| | While you’re driving or walking around the city, you |
| | should see a fair number of flaming barrels littering the |
| | sidewalks and alleyways. If you destroy one of these, a |
| | two by four usually flies out. Your best bet is to grab |
| | an unsuspecting pedestrian (or enemy, if you’re feeling |
| | particularly benevolent) and toss them towards the barrel. |
| | Running one (a barrel, not a pedestrian, you maniac) over |
| | with a car should also work. Either way, look through the |
| | debris and see if you can find a flaming piece of wood. |
| | That’s your two by four. Don’t be fooled by its flimsy |
| | look (or common logic). The two by four will never break, |
| | nor will it be extinguished when you return it to your |
| | magically spacious, fire-retardant coat pocket...right.... |
| | Regardless, you now have the weapon you need to carry out |
| | the "Chin Up Execution," as well as "Sicilian Candle |
| | Execution" and even "Melee Weapon Execution," if you don’t |
| | already have it. |

| | power attacks and combos to bring him to his knees, then |
| | press the execution trigger to finish him off. As usual, |
| | you can use a firearm to kneecap the enemy if that’s more |
| | your style, but the game may not let you use the execution |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Molotov Cocktail |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | Very similar to the Bombs Away execution, this one |
| | requires you to kill a gangster by using a Molotov |
| | cocktail. As this weapon explodes on impact (it has no |
| | fuse), it is much easier than the aforementioned style. If |
| | you use Molotovs to assault a roadblock from a distance |
| | (when taking down a warehouse, hub, or compound), you will |
| | most likely get this award. The only difficulty in being |
| | granted this style comes from: |
| | |
| | 1. Mastering the throwing arc |
| | 2. Not killing yourself in the process |
| | |
| | As mentioned earlier, the execution only counts if you |
| | don’t die in the process. Also, make sure you know where |
| | your Molotov will go, or else you won’t be able to hit a |
| | thing. Consult black market dealers for extra Molotovs, |
| | and upgrade your street smarts skill to increase your |
| | carrying capacity. |
| | |
| | Note (thanks to Jackson Teagle): You may also get credit |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Police Baton |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | This is another of the many triggered melee execution |
| | styles. First, you need to procure a police baton. Your |
| | best bet is to find a cop roaming the streets (preferably |
| | alone and not near a police station). Run up to him and |
| | start hitting him with melee attacks (if you use a gun, so |
| | will he, and you won’t be able to get his baton). Once you |
| | see him draw his baton, finish him off as you see fit, and |
| | he should drop it when he dies. If you have little to no |
| | heat and/or a high street smarts skill, this single murder |
| | shouldn’t set the entire police force on your heels. |
| | Still, you may bring quite a bit of unwanted attention. |
| | Simply retreat to a safehouse and wait it out. |
| | Alternatively, you can go all out against the cops, as it |
| | doesn’t matter if you die, you already have the weapon |
| | you need. |
| | |
| | Now, with no heat (wait for it to disappear, bribe a cop, |
| | die, etc.), find an unsuspecting enemy gangster and beat |
| | him over the head with your new baton. Quickly use the |
| | execution trigger while he’s still standing to be awarded |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | No |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | A firearm (handguns preferred) |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | Although it is classified as an "execution style" this |
| | maneuver doesn’t actually kill your target. Instead, they |
| | are disarmed. The key to getting this style is to hit an |
| | enemy gangster in their right shoulder pressure point, so |
| | that they drop their gun. Although this sounds simple |
| | enough, it’s actually quite difficult. First of all, most |
| | enemies will not have their guns drawn until they enter |
| | combat. As a result, using wall cover so you can take your |
| | time to aim (assuming the enemy hasn’t spotted you) won’t |
| | work. This is because a pressure point shoulder shot |
| | doesn’t count unless the gangster has their weapon out. |
| | If you do get an enemy to see you and draw their weapon, |
| | they generally try to take cover behind whatever they can. |
| | Most of the time, this involves them crouching. This makes |
| | it even more difficult to hit the pressure point (which is |
| | pretty small to begin with). |
| | |
| | The key to getting this rather difficult execution style |
| | is to put points into your shooting skill when you level |
| | up. Not only will this increase your accuracy and decrease |
| | the time it takes for your reticule to tighten, but at |
| | levels 3, 6 and 9, you will increase your disarm chance by |
| | 25%. |
| | |
| | To get this style, your best bet is to use a weak but |
| | accurate handgun (such as the revolver) and try to get |
| | yourself in a position where your enemy isn’t crouching or |
| | taking cover behind something. A great way to do this is |
| | to kneecap them. Then, while they’re stunned and on their |
| | knees, take your time lining up the disarming shoulder |
| | shot. You may have to wait for them to get up again, as |
| | they might have put away their gun. Remember, your |
| | crosshairs will turn red when you have the pressure point |
| | selected. That should be your indicator to determine if |
| | you’re aiming in the right place. Although you can use |
| | free-aim, locking on to your target and then adjusting |
| | your crosshairs will most likely yield better results. |
| | This execution might require some extra point allocation, |
| | accuracy, and skill. As a result, it may be one of the |
| | last ones you achieve. |

| | |
| Strategy | This is another of the many triggered melee executions. It |

| | consequently, the same strategies apply. First, get a |
| | baseball bat (your first safehouse has one). Next, find an |
| | enemy gangster. Then simply start attacking them with the |
| | bat until they drop to their knees. Once they’re on the |
| | ground, press the execution trigger to take them out for |
| | good. As acquiring the baseball bat is no challenge, the |
| | only difficulty I would anticipate would be getting |
| | enemies to kneel. Some gangsters can be beaten repeatedly |
| | with the bat, but just end up dying, never falling to |
| | their knees. Still, it shouldn’t take more than a few |
| | tries with some enemies before you’re finally able to |

- Faceoff Execution (PC/PS2/Xbox) -
___________________________________
_____________________________________________________________________________
| | |
| Name | Faceoff Execution |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Platforms | PC, PS2, Xbox |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Description | Kill an enemy by using a large firearm and the execute |
| trigger while they are kneeling |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Triggered | Yes - Kneeling |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | A large firearm (Shotgun or Tommy Gun) |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | To put it simply, this execution style requires you to use |
| | the execute trigger on a kneeling foe with a large firearm |
| | (Shotgun or Tommy Gun). The reason why this might be |
| | somewhat difficult is that large firearms, in particular, |
| | do quite a bit of damage. As a result, you have a greater |
| | chance of accidentally killing your target with the first |
| | shot, rather than just dropping them to their knees. While |
| | you can attempt to kneecap them with a weak handgun and |
| | then switch to a large firearm for the execution, this |
| | usually takes too long, and you miss the window of |
| | opportunity for the trigger. Although the Shotgun |
| | execution looks better (in my opinion) you’ll probably |
| | have more luck using the Tommy Gun. Just make sure that |
| | you only squeeze the trigger once at the enemy’s kneecap. |
| | This is because holding down the fire button might start |
| | your character in a different execution style (Gut Shot |
| | Execution). You may end up killing quite a few targets |
| | before you get this one right, but the end result is quite |
| | satisfying: Your character knocks the enemy onto their |
| | back, holds them down with his foot, and fires directly |
| | into their head. Overall, this is a medium difficulty |
| | execution the first time you do it, but once you get the |
| | hang of it, it’s actually quite easy. |
| | |
| | Note (thanks to Kollin Grimm): You must approach your |
| | target from the front when using the execute trigger. |
| | Otherwise, you’ll just do a Gut Shot Execution) |
| | |
| | Note (thanks to Steve Tash): You may also get this style |
| | automatically while simply running and gunning. This is |
| | similar to the automatic execution that sometimes occurs |
| | with "Gut Shot Execution." |

| | |
| Triggered | Yes - Kneeling |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Shotgun |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | To put it simply, this execution style requires you to use |
| | the execute trigger on a kneeling foe with a shotgun |
| | The reason why this might be somewhat difficult is that |
| | large firearms (which a shotgun is) in particular, do |
| | quite a bit of damage.
If you go up against strong |
| | enemies with high health reserves, you shouldn’t be too |
| | hard-pressed to drop them to their knees (without killing |
| | them) with the first shot. You may end up killing quite a |
| | few targets before you get this one right, but the end |
| | result is quite satisfying: Your character knocks the |
| | enemy onto their back, holds them down with his foot, and |
| | fires directly into their head. Overall, this is a medium |
| | difficulty execution the first time you do it, but once |
| | you get the hang of it, it’s actually quite easy. |
| | |
| | Note about the platform differences: The only difference |
| | between this Faceoff Execution and the other Faceoff |
| | Execution is in the weaponry. The PC/PS2/Xbox "Faceoff" |
| | required either a Tommy gun or a shotgun. For the |
| | PS3/Wii/Xbox 360 version, they made "Faceoff" |
| | shotgun-only, and made a new style (Riddled With Lead |
| | Execution) for doing a kneeling execution trigger with the |
| | Tommy gun. |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Any firearm (Magnum, Revolver, Pistol, Shotgun, or Tommy |
| | Gun) |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | This is probably the easiest and most self-explanatory of |
| | the execution styles. Really...All you have to do is kill |
| | someone with a firearm. You don’t have to hit them any |
| | place in particular, or do any special maneuvers. All you |
| | have to do is kill them. The only difficulty I could |
| | possibly see anyone having with this is that if you DO use |
| | a special execution method or trigger, you might get that |
| | style award (such as Hats Off Execution) instead of the |
| | regular, untriggered Firearm Execution. However, given the |
| | number of enemies you face, even if you hardly play this |
| | game at all, I would be very surprised if you didn’t get |
| | this execution style. Really, there’s nothing more to |
| | say...Go and shoot someone (in the game of course). |

- Foot in Mouth Execution -

| Name | Foot in Mouth Execution |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Platforms | PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Description | Kill a kneeling enemy by using the execution trigger while |
| | holding a magnum |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Triggered | Yes - Kneeling |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Magnum |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | This is a fairly straightforward and self-explanatory |
| | explanation. Just follow the description: use the |
| | execution trigger and a magnum to take out a kneeling |
| | enemy. As with many of these styles, your biggest |
| | challenge may be to drop your enemy to their knees without |
| | simply killing them. The magnum is a powerful weapon, even |
| | before it’s upgraded. A weak Tattaglia gangster might very |
| | well go down in a single shot (conveniently giving you |
| | "Sure Shot Execution") instead of enabling you to perform |
| | this execution. If you want to, you can try to use a |
| | weaker weapon to kneecap your foe, then switch to the |
| | magnum for the kill. Still, your best bet is just to find |
| | a fairly strong enemy (depending on how upgraded your |
| | magnum is), shoot them in the knee, then get close to them |
| | and use the execution trigger. |

| Description | Kill an enemy with a melee weapon |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Triggered | Optional - Standing, Kneeling, or None (Untriggered) |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Baseball Bat, Lead Pipe, Police Baton |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | In order to be awarded this execution style, you must |
| | kill an enemy using a melee weapon. Although one would |
| | think that the baseball bat would be required, I tested |
| | the other weapons and the lead pipe and police baton |
| | should also get you this execution style. If you use the |
| | execution trigger (standing or kneeling), it should also |
| | grant you the execution style. |
| | |
| | To do this, use the weapon (attacking) to bring a |
| | gangster to his knees. When prompted, press the execute |
| | button (default: V key on the PC). If you did it |
| | correctly, your character will put the bat behind the |
| | enemy’s neck and smash his (the enemy’s) face into his |
| | (your character’s) knee. You may also use a firearm to |
| | kneecap a gangster, then switch to the melee weapon and |
| | achieve this style as well. Overall, this is a really |
| | simple one to get. Maybe that’s why it was replaced by 13 |
| | different execution styles in the PS3/Wii/Xbox 360 |
| | versions. |
| | |
| | Reader Josh Allen also confirmed that using other melee |
| | weapons (in his case, the lead pipe) and the execution |
| | trigger will still award you with this style. |

| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | A large firearm (Shotgun or Tommy Gun) |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | Just as the Faceoff Execution (PC/PS2/Xbox) is the large |
| | firearm version of the Hats Off Execution (also |
| | PC/PS2/Xbox), this is the large firearm version of the |
| | Pistol Execution. Just about all the same tactics from the |
| | other three of these firearm execution styles apply to |
| | this one. Again, the only real difficulty you’ll face when |
| | attempting to get this execution style is that you may end |
| | up killing your target with the move that’s supposed to |
| | stun them. Also, make sure that you use the execute |
| | trigger while your target is stunned, but before they get |
| | all the way to the "kneeling" pose. Otherwise, you’ll end |
| | up doing the Faceoff Execution. There really isn’t much |
| | more to say about this one. Consult the "Hats Off," |
| | "Pistol," and "Faceoff" Executions (all PC/PS2/Xbox) for |
| | more tips about how to achieve this style. |

| Name | Gut Shot Execution |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Platforms | PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 |

| Description | Kill a standing enemy by using a shotgun and the execution |
| | trigger |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Triggered | Yes - Standing |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Shotgun |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | As you can probably guess, this is almost identical to the |
| | PC/PS2/Xbox version of "Gut Shot" except that you MUST use |
| | the shotgun. This makes it somewhat more difficult, as the |
| | shotgun can often be too effective at doing its job. If |
| |&
| | this happens, you’ll just end up killing all the enemies |
| | before you can get close to them to use the execution |
| | trigger. While you can try to use another weapon to stun |
| | (not kneecap - this is a standing execution) your enemies, |
| | then switch back, your best bet is just to find a very |
| | strong enemy who won’t die from a single shotgun blast. |
| | Cuneos and Barzini gangsters should work fine in the early |
| | game (before you upgrade your shotgun). Try to ambush one |
| | who’s by himself or caught in the middle of a firefight |
| | and occupied with another target. Other than that, all the |
| | same strategies should apply from the other "Gut Shot" and |
| | "Faceoff" Executions. |

- Hard Head Execution -

_____________________________________________________________________________
| | |
| Name | Hard Head Execution |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Platforms | PC, PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox, Xbox 360 |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Description | Kill an enemy by slamming their head into a solid object |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Triggered | No |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | A medium-high solid object, such as a table or countertop |
| | (this isn’t really an item, though) |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | To get this execution style, you must utilize head slams. |
| | The principle is simple: when alongside certain medium- |
| | height objects, you can slam your victim’s head into them. |
| | In the mission "A Grave Situation" the game walks you |
| | through how to do this. Although you use headstones and |
| | caskets in that mission, the most common object that |
| | you’ll probably use is a bar counter. You must grab your |
| | foe in a Blackhand grapple, position yourself alongside |
| | the object, and press the corresponding movement key |
| | (default: A or D key on the PC). The gangster must be |
| | killed by this method, and, as is the case with many of |
| | these styles, you can damage them using other methods |
| | before killing them with this one. |
| | |
| | The reason that many people have trouble with this style |
| | is that generally it’s only store patrons and owners who |
| | get their heads slammed into tables, not the gangsters |
| | protecting them. Also, the right object to do the trick |
| | can be hard to find. It often looks like a certain surface |
| | is the perfect height, but the game just wont let you slam |
| | your enemy’s head into it. As a result, "Hard Head |
| | Execution" can be somewhat engrossing and rather |
| | irritating if you have additional outside factors |
| | interfering with your execution. This is one you probably |
| | want to get completed on some weak, low-level Tattaglia |
| | thug, not a Barzini Underboss. |

- Hats Off Execution (PC/PS2/Xbox) -

_____________________________________________________________________________
| | |
| Name | Hats Off Execution |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Platforms | PC, PS2, Xbox |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Description | Use the execution trigger to kill a kneeling enemy while |
| | holding a handgun |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Triggered | Yes - Kneeling |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | A handgun (magnum, revolver, or pistol) |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | This is a relatively easy execution to pull off. In this |
| | case, all you need to do is to activate the execution |
| | trigger on a kneeling enemy while holding a single-handed |
| | firearm. Although you can bludgeon a gangster with your |
| | hands or a bat, the most effective method here is to |
| | kneecap them, preferably with the same weapon you intend |
| | to use for the execution. Wait until they are completely |
| | down on their knees. Once they are, press the "execute" |
| | button. Your character will lift them up by the neck, |
| | firing his weapon and blowing their hat off (by putting a |
| | bullet through the side of their head). One note about |
| | this is that if you are close enough to a gangster, if you |
| | click to fire at close range, your character may also do |
| | this execution move. This is really only a problem when |
| | extorting owners (who you DON’T want to kill). Like the |
| | other firearm executions, this one often is triggered by |
| | repetitive point blank firing, not just the execution |
| | trigger. The only problem you may face with this one is |
| | trying to execute too quickly; not letting the gangster |
| | get all the way down to their knees. If you do this, you |
| | will not do the Hats Off Execution, but will instead |
| | perform the Pistol Execution |

| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Pistol |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | Unlike some of the more confusing execution styles (in |
| | terms of platform differences), this one is pretty |
| | straightforward. All you have to do is use the execution |
| | trigger on a kneeling enemy while you’re holding a pistol. |
| | In the PC/PS2/Xbox version, you could use any of the |
| | handguns. Here, you HAVE to use the pistol (the other two |
| | got their own separate styles). The same strategies you’ve |
| | used for similar execution styles should apply just fine. |
| | Use melee attacks or a kneecap shot to bring your enemy to |
| | their knees, then approach them with the pistol in hand |
| | and use the execution trigger. There really isn’t much |
| | more to say. Just be aware of the platform differences for |

| | |
| Strategy | This execution style is almost identical to "Gut Shot |
| | Execution," except that this time, you have to use a Tommy |
| | gun instead of a shotgun. If anything, this makes it even |
| | easier to perform. The biggest problem with the shotgun |
| | executions is that you often end up killing your target |
| | with a single shot, thereby making it impossible for you |
| | to use an execution trigger. With a Tommy gun, you should |
| | have no problem, as the weapon doesn’t do very much damage |
| | per shot. Just get fairly close to your enemy, squeeze off |
| | a few rounds, then quickly press the execution trigger. As |
| | with some of the other standing firearm triggers, you may |
| | perform this style accidentally if you are right up |
| | against an enemy and open fire. All in all, this is a |
| | fairly easy execution style to achieve. |

| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Golf Club, Pool Cue, or Shovel |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | This is another of the twelve triggered melee execution |
| | styles. Like the description says, you have to use a golf |
| | club, pool cue or shovel to execute a kneeling gangster. |
| | You can find golf clubs in many of your safehouses, pool |
| | cues in clubs with pool tables (such as Molsenni’s) and |
| | shovels in the graveyards of most churches and in some |
| | warehouses (such as the Tattaglia Hub). |
| | Once you have your weapon, just find an enemy and start |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | No |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Any firearm (handgun recommended) |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | Similar to the "Disarmed" award, "Kneecapped" is a non- |
| | lethal style that requires you to fire at an enemy’s |
| | pressure point. In this case, either of their knees. This |
| | is a very useful technique for regular gameplay and an |
| | absolutely critical one for getting a great deal of the |
| | other execution styles. Once you can effectively kneecap a |
| | gangster, you might find that you can do that other |
| | execution you were having trouble with before. Getting |
| | the award for the first time may be slightly challenging, |
| | but after that, you should become a pro at kneecapping. |
| | |
| | In order to kneecap, all you have to do is move your |
| | reticule down towards your target’s knee (either one works |
| | fine). Your crosshair should turn red, signifying a |
| | pressure point. If you fire, your target should be |
| | stunned, then fall to their knees. Use this not only for |
| | this style alone, but also as a starting point for another |
| | style, such as Hats Off Execution. While you can kneecap |
| | someone while free-aiming, using lock-on and adjusting |
| | your aim is the preferred method. Practice this technique |
| | a little, and you’ll soon have a new, very powerful skill |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | This one is very simple, and should be of little |

| | enemy by srangling them. To perform this move, simply grab |
| | an enemy (Blackhand grapple) and hold down the "strangle" |
| | button (default: X key on the PC, click and hold in both |
| | sticks on most consoles) until they die. For this one, I |
| | wouldn’t even bother damaging them with a different weapon |
| | and then switching, because the strangle move is fast, |
| | deadly, and silent. Ideally, use this on a lone gangster, |
| | as the only downside of the move is that it leaves you |

| | |
| Strategy | The same general strategies apply for most of the |

| | of the easiest of these executions. Unlike the magnum or |
| | shotgun, which can often do so much damage that they kill |
| | your enemy before you can use an execution trigger, the |
| | revolver is (conveniently) quite weak. Even when fully |
| | upgraded to the Saturday Night Special, the weapon is no |
| | one hit kill machine. As a result, acquiring this |

| | |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | The PC/PS2/Xbox version’s "Firearm Execution" was replaced |
| | by a separate execution style for each of the game’s five |
| | firearms. This "Magnum Execution" happens to be one of |
| | them. All you have to do is kill an enemy using the |
| | magnum. Yes, it’s that simple. Make sure that your kill is |
| | untriggered, however, or you’ll end up getting "Taste My |
| | Chamber" or "Foot in Mouth" instead. The only conceivable |
| | difficulty for getting this execution would be that the |
| | magnum is strong enough to often kill enemies in a single |
| | hit. In that case, you’ll be awarded "Sure Shot Execution" |
| | instead of the desired style. Just find an enemy who isn’t |
| | the weakest Tattaglia around and you should be able to |
| | kill him in more than one shot. |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | This is another very easy execution style. Unless you only |
| | use guns and never fight with melee weapons, chances are |
| | you already have achieved it. All you have to do is kill |
| | someone with a melee weapon (other than your fists). You |
| | can find baseball bats and lead pipes in most of your |

| | racket buildings, and so on. It’s very likely that you |
| | already have some sort of melee weapon. Just make sure |

| | |
| Strategy | This is yet another one of the triggered melee execution |
| | styles. As with the others, simply procure the required |

| | to their knees (it may take a few tries), then press the |
| | execution trigger to finish them off. Your biggest |
| | difficulty will probably be getting the police baton you |
| | need for this execution. Basically, find a beat cop |
| | (ideally away from any other officers) and start fighting |
| | with him in melee combat. Once he draws his baton, finish |
| | him however you see fit (still with melee attacks, |
| | though). With the baton in hand, you can go after the |
| | execution style or wait for your heat to go down. Either |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Oven/Cremator (not really an item) |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | Although you can get it earlier, you must use this |
| | execution style in the mission "The Silent Witness." |
| | Basically, you have to throw your enemy into an oven. Most |
| | ovens in the game can be found in the back portion of |
| | every bakery business around New York. However, as the |
| | sixteenth mission ("The Silent Witness") demonstrates, |
| | a funeral home’s oven (cremator) works just as well. |
| | |
| | In order to burn your foe alive, you can use two |
| | different methods. Both start out with you grabbing your |
| | enemy and positioning them towards the oven. One |
| | possibility is for you to push them up against the edge, |
| | and continue to press forward. Your character will lean |
| | their head into the oven. If you tap forwards once more |
| | (I believe you have to tap up on the RIGHT stick in some |
| | of the console versions), you’ll throw them completely in. |
| | If you want a more direct route, simply push or swing/toss |
| | them towards the oven. If you’re close, they’ll stumble |
| | backwards, trip and flip over the lip of the oven, sealing |
| | their fate. Although you should get this during mission |
| | 16, it will be difficult to attempt at another time. This |
| | is because ovens are not very common, and are far back in |
| | the shop. You have to drag or lure a gangster quite far to |
| | get them in position. However, feel free to send Bruno |
| | Tattaglia and any of his goons into the cremator. |

| | |
| Strategy | As is the case with most of these triggered melee |

| | the two by four or police baton, the lead pipe isn’t even |
| | very difficult to acquire. Almost all of your purchased |

| Strategy | This style is very similar to the Hats Off Execution. The |
| | only difference is that with this one, you must use the |
| | execute trigger on a standing enemy. However, that doesn’t |
| | mean that kneecapping an enemy won’t work. You just have |
| | to use the execute trigger before they fall completely to |
| | their knees. However you choose to do this, I’d recommend |
| | getting very close to your foe; ideally at point blank |
| | range. Try to hit them with a weak handgun (e.g. the level |
| | 1 revolver) and/or in a pressure point (knee, gut, |
| | shoulder). Assuming it didn’t kill them in one hit, press |
| | the execute trigger to fire downwards into the side of |
| | their head. Like the Hats Off Execution, you may do this |
| | automatically if you attempt to fire again at point blank |
| | range. This one is very easy, and you should have no |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | While the majority of execution styles that are shared |
| | across the different platforms are similar or only |
| | slightly different from one another, the pistol execution |
| | is quite significantly changed. For executions like "Hats |
| | Off" and "Gut Shot," the PC/PS2/Xbox versions require a |
| | handgun and the PS3/Wii/Xbox 360 version splits the |
| | execution into separate styles, one for each weapon. The |
| | pistol execution is different, however. For the |
| | PC/PS2/Xbox version, you need to perform a triggered |
| | execution on a standing enemy while holding a handgun. The |
| | PS3/Wii/Xbox 360 equivalent of this (for the pistol) is |
| | the "Back of the Head Execution." This "Pistol Execution" |
| | instead requires you to simply kill an enemy with the |
| | pistol (UNtriggered). Chances are you’ll get this without |
| | trying on a number of occasions. So all in all, the pistol |
| | execution isn’t difficult, just a little confusing. |

| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Golf Club, Pool Cue or Shovel |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | Like the "How’s Your Leg Execution," this style requires |
| | you to use a golf club, pool cue, or shovel in combination |
| | with the execution trigger to take down an enemy. The only |
| | difference is that this time, your foe must be standing, |
| | rather than kneeling when you trigger the kill. Once |
| | again, for reference, the golf club can be found in many |
| | safehouses, the pool cue in clubs with pool tables and the |
| | shovel in most church graveyards and some warehouses. |
| | |
| | Once you have any of these weapons, find a suitable enemy |
| | and start pummeling them. Swinging repeatedly without |
| | stopping, as well as frequently pressing the execution |
| | trigger can reduce the risk that the enemy falls to their |
| | knees before you kill them (thereby getting the wrong |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | This is one of the easiest of an already simple type of |
| | execution styles. Once again, all you have to do is kill |
| | someone with the revolver. The only way you WON’T get this |
| | execution is if you perform either of the triggered |
| | executions ("Between the Eyes Execution," "Look at Me |
| | Execution") or kill your enemy in a single shot ("Sure |
| | Shot Execution"). While you will undoubtedly perform |
| | plenty of triggered kills, it’s quite unlikely that you |
| | will end up doing nothing but them. The one hit kill is |
| | also not something to worry about, as the revolver is the |
| | weakest weapon in the game. It’s very probable that you’ll |
| | achieve this execution style (with ease) during one of the |
| | training missions. It’s easy enough that I need not say |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | Another fairly straightforward triggered style, "Riddled |
| | With Lead" requires you to use the Tommy gun and the |
| | execution trigger on a kneeling enemy. Like the other 7th |
| | generation variants, this execution style is the Tommy gun |
| | equivalent of "Faceoff Execution." While this shotgun |
| | version may take some complex setup, "Riddled With Lead" |
| | is quite easy to complete. Just stand a few feet from your |
| | enemy and use the Tommy gun to kneecap them. Assuming they |
| | don’t die from this initial volley, wait for them to fall |
| | to their knees, then run up and press the execution |
| | trigger. Be aware that if you are too close, you may |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Car or truck |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | This execution style is relatively easy to get. All you |
| | have to do is kill an enemy by running them over with your |
| | car. For most gangsters, hitting them twice is enough |
| | to take them down. The difficulty here comes in the fact |
| | that they are surprisingly adept at diving out of the way |
| | of your vehicle. Try to anticipate where they’re going to |
| | jump, and counter accordingly. You can also drive to one |
| | side, so that they’re clearly going to jump the other way, |
| | then at the last second, swerve that direction. Also, if a |
| | gangster is wounded or stunned (such as from a multiple |
| | gang and police firefight), they are generally immobile, |
| | and much easier to run over. Once you master the basics of |
| | driving in this game (which can be difficult given the |
| | absurd physics), you should have little trouble getting |
| | this style. |

| Description | Kill an enemy using the shotgun (untriggered) |

| Triggered | No |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Shotgun |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | The Shotgun Execution is nothing more than the simple kill |
| | that its name suggests. As with the other firearm |
| | executions, all you have to do is get a normal |
| | (untriggered) kill on an enemy with the specified weapon. |
| | This shotgun version of the style is the hardest of these |
| | five executions (though still laughably easy) because the |
| | shotgun tends to deal the most damage. As I’ve noted with |
| | the other styles, if you kill your target in a single hit, |
| | you end up with "Sure Shot Execution" instead of the |
| | desired style. |
| | |
| | While you may be blowing people away with single shots |
| | left and right at the beginning of the game, it doesn’t |
| | take long to find out that tougher gangsters can stand up |
| | to quite a bit of punishment. Yes, those loitering |
| | Tattaglia goons go down quickly, but many Stracci and most |
| | Cuneo and Barzini gangsters won’t fall so easily. |
| | |
| | Essentially what I’m saying is, if you’re having |
| | difficulty avoiding the "Sure Shot Execution" while trying |
| | for this one (or "Gut Shot" or "Faceoff"), just seek out |
| | some higher level enemies who won’t die in a single shot. |

| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Two by Four |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | As mentioned in the strategy for the "Chin Up Execution," |
| | the greatest difficulty in getting this execution style |
| | may very well be simply acquiring the necessary weapon. |
| | Two by fours can be found by destroying any of the many |
| | flaming barrels around New York. Using a car, firearm from |
| | long range, or a pedestrian (thrown) is advised, as the |
| | barrels’ explosions can hurt you if you’re too close. |
| | Anyway, use whatever method you prefer to destroy one of |
| | these objects, then run into the flaming wreckage and you |
| | should find a two by four. If not, simply try with another |
| | barrel. |
| | |
| | Once you actually have the two by four, you can finally |
| | complete the execution style. Just find an enemy and start |
| | swinging at them. After doing some damage (but before they |
| | fall to their knees), press the execution trigger to |
| | finish them off. Note that this execution involves your |
| | character lighting the enemy on fire. The animation is |
| | particularly lengthy compared to those for the other |
| | triggered executions. As a result, don’t be concerned if |
| | you don’t get "credit" the second you press the trigger. |
| | Just wait a while and you should get it. |

| | simple enough, you might have a little trouble actually |
| | finding the weapon itself. The earliest you can possibly |
| | get the garrote (to my knowledge) is during the mission |
| | "Sleeping With The Fishes." After the cinematic, you’ll |
| | have to fight through a handful of Tattaglia gangsters in |
| | order to kill Luca’s assassin. When you reach him, look on |

| | If you don’t get the weapon at either of these times, |
| | you’re almost certain to acquire it during "Fireworks" or |
| | "Horseplay." |
| | |
| | Now that you have the garrote, you have to deal with |
| | another issue: finding a suitable target. In order to use |
| | the garrote, you must press the command for a blackhand |
| | grapple while you’re behind your target. Most gangsters |
| | will spin on their axis to face you, making an attack from |
| | the rear impossible. If you are unable to find a gangster |
| | who you can sneak up on, there are two good alternatives. |
| | One of these is to find a situation where multiple |
| | families and/or the police are engaged in a firefight. |
| | Find an enemy gangster who is occupied with another |
| | target, and try to garrote them from behind. An even |
| | easier alternative is to kneecap a gangster, and while |
| | they’re stunned, circle around behind them and use the |
| | garrote. This tactic makes this otherwise difficult style |
| | relatively easy to complete. |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | A first story window (just about every business has one) |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | In order to get this execution, you must kill a gangster |
| | by throwing or pushing them out a first story window. Just |
| | like the Over Cooked Execution, you can either do this by |
| | holding them over the ledge and tapping forwards, or by |
| | swinging them towards the ledge an letting go (so they |
| | stumble backwards and trip out the window). Make sure, |
| | however, that your target is near death before you attempt |
| | this, as falling out of a window (on the ground floor) |
| | doesn’t do much damage at all. They must die in the |
| | process for this style to count. The only other difficulty |
| | comes from the fact that such a specific style requires |
| | you to divert all your attention towards one target. This |
| | is not the type of execution to attempt during a multi-man |
| | brawl. In general, just find a shop (almost anything |
| | except a bakery will work), pummel a nearby gangster until |
| | they’re nearly dead, and toss them through the window. |
| | Note that it doesn’t matter whether they go into the shop |
| | through the window or out of the shop through the window. |
| | As long as it kills them, you should get the award. |
| | |
| | Note (thanks to Lloyd Blackmore): This style may become |
| | very difficult with no enemies remaining [more so than |
| | most other executions] because few gangsters will be found |
| | in close vicinity to a window. |
| | |
| | Note (thanks to Chris Kinster): This style can also be |
| | awarded if a gangster falls out the window due to incoming |
| | fire (i.e. the bullets hitting him push him backwards out |
| | the window). One could also assume that this would apply |
| | to "Watch Your Step Execution" as well. |
| | |
| | Note (thanks to Josh Allen and The KrazyGamerHead): You |
| | may get credit for this style without even needing glass. |
| | Reader Josh Allen notes: "The Stained Glass Execution does |
| | not necessarily have to be performed in front of a window. |
| | I was shooting at a man near a very low wall. He fell |
| | over it and died. I was awarded the Stained Glass |
| | Execution for said deed." |
| | The KrazyGamerHead also describes how "if you are in a |
| | singing club you can throw a guy over the attendents |
| | counter and if they die you will get the Stained Glass |
| | Execution." |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | In order to get Sure Shot Execution, you must kill an |
| | enemy with a single shot. Contrary to what some guides may |
| | state, you do NOT need a headshot. However, as headshots |
| | automatically do six times normal damage, this is the |
| | recommended method. Still, you should be awarded the style |
| | if you kill an enemy with a single shot, regardless of |
| | where you shot them. With that in mind, here’s how to |
| | effectively use headshots to get this style. |
| | |
| | What you may have minor trouble with is managing to peg an |
| | an enemy in the head, especially since they like to run |
| | around and take cover. Again, you can use the ultimate |
| | "set-up" move: the kneecap. However, you may have an even |
| | easier time using this method: Find an enemy gangster on |
| | the street, say, protecting a business. Find a nearby wall |
| | that’s positioned so if you use wall cover on it, you’ll |
| | still have a clear line of sight towards the gangster. |
| | Assuming you haven’t alerted them, the gangsters should be |
| | standing around doing nothing. Use wall cover on the wall, |
| | then draw your weapon (handgun recommended). Lock on to |
| | the nearest gangster and take your time to move the |
| | reticule up directly over their head. When you’re ready, |
| | simply press the fire button, and your character will lean |
| | out from the wall and fire. Assuming you aimed correctly, |
| | you should get a lethal headshot. I suppose if you used a |
| | level 1 revolver on a Barzini Underboss, they might not |
| | die, but in just about any other situation, your target |
| | should be killed instantly. Like some of the other firearm |
| | styles, you can use free-aim to get this. Although it will |
| | allow you to hit targets that are out of lock-on distance, |
| | it isn’t the recommended method of getting this style. |

| | |
| Strategy | This is another simple execution style. All you have to do |
| | is use the magnum and the execution trigger to kill a |
| | standing enemy. As is the case with "Foot in Mouth |
| | Execution," if you’re fighting with weak enemies, you |
| | might end up killing them with a single magnum shot. In |
| | this case, you can try to kneecap them, but if they fall |
| | all the way, you’ll get the wrong style. Your best bet is |
| | just to find a slightly stronger enemy. Like many of the |
| | triggered firearm executions, if you’re right up against |
| | your foe (point blank range), simply firing once or twice |
| | may very well automatically trigger this execution |

| Strategy | By this point, I really shouldn’t have to explain what |

| | description alone should be more than enough to tell you |
| | what to do. It’s really as simple as it sounds: just kill |
| | an enemy using the Tommy gun. As with the other styles |
| | like this, you will get credit for any kill UNLESS you |
| | perform a triggered execution or kill your enemy in a |
| | single shot. Since the Tommy gun’s shots are quite weak |
| | individually, as long as you keep your distance, neither |
| | of these exceptions should be a problem. This is another |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | Countless e-mails, numerous complaints and my own personal |
| OVERVIEW | difficulties have prompted me to completely re-write this |
| | section, outlining a far more detailed strategy. In fact, |
| | so detailed that it needs sub-sections. I expect that most |
| | people reading this guide are specifically trying to get |
| | "Traffic Accident Execution." And with good reason: this |
| | is without a doubt the most difficult, and quite possibly |
| | the most unusual of all the execution styles in this game. |
| | Many people never get it not because of its difficulty |
| | (though this is definitely an issue), but because of its |
| | sheer bizarreness. |
| | |
| | In order to be awarded this execution style, you must |
| | throw, toss, or push a gangster so that they stumble into |
| | oncoming traffic. They must be killed by a car running |
| | into them. They cannot simply die from hitting the side of |
| | the car or from hitting the ground. |
| | |
| | The number of difficulties associated with this execution |
| | style is immense. For starters, this is an incredibly |
| | engrossing execution, so you shouldn’t try it with more |
| | than a single gangster. Also, given the state of extremely |
| | low health your target must be in before you attempt the |
| | execution, you really only get one (maybe two) shot(s) at |
| | it. Additionally, running in front of cars will result in |
| | them stopping, and the vehicles must be in motion for this |
| | execution to count. Furthermore, the game seems very |
| | determined not to spawn new cars when you really need |
| | them. On the few occasions it seems benevolent enough to |
| | give you the cars you need, they are either spawned |
| | stationary or are spawned in the distance driving away |
| | from you. On top of all that, once you’re grabbing onto |
| | your target, the camera focuses in very close to you, |
| | making it difficult, if not impossible, to see more than a |
| | few feet in any direction. Now that you know what you’re |
| | up against, let’s get on to the actual strategy. |
| | |
| Strategy: | First, the setup. Make sure that you have a full armament |
| SETUP | of weapons and a good supply of ammo. It goes without |
| | saying that you should have full health and your game |
| | should be saved. While it’s optional, I would strongly |
| | recommend bribing some cops to buy yourself some |
| | uninterrupted time. Anyone who’s had a police officer |
| | screw up their attempt can appreciate how irritating this |
| | interference can be. It’s also in your best interest to |
| | have fairly low vendetta levels with the other families, |
| | though this won’t have a pronounced effect unless you’re |
| | in a mob war (in which case you should not be attempting |
| | this style). Having a high level of fighting skill is also |
| | recommended, as it allows you to hold on to your enemy |
| | longer before they throw off your grapple. High street |
| | smarts (lower heat/vendetta) and health (obvious) skills |
| | can also help. |
| | |
| Strategy: | The next order of business is to find a good location to |
| LOCATION | attempt this style. You want a street that’s busy, but you |
| | also don’t want tons of pedestrians or cops getting in |
| | your way. If you are going to use enemies from businesses |
| | (rather than racket trucks), you’ll also want to make sure |
| | that you’re far away from your own establishments, as your |
| | allies love to kill enemy gangsters and will frequently |
| | interfere with your plans. If you’re going to use racket |
| | trucks (recommended), numerous reader e-mails have |
| | suggested that the tunnels throughout New York are the |
| | best place because of their isolation from external |
| | interference and their steady traffic flow. However, I’ve |
| | had issues with the traffic not flowing at all (as |
| | commented upon above), and the fact that it only goes in a |
| | single direction can be somewhat undesirable. |
| | |
| | I’ve had the best luck performing this execution style on |
| | Canal Street (the east-west arterial directly north of the |
| | Corleone compound). The best place on Canal Street seems |
| | to be somewhere between the West Side Highway/Holland |
| | Tunnel and the Broadway intersection (i.e. right around |
| | the turnoffs to the Verona Warehouse and Corleone |
| | Compound). I’m not saying that this can’t be performed |
| | elsewhere, I just find this to be the easiest place to do |
| | so. |
| | |
| Strategy: | Now, on to the targets. If you’ve chosen a street in the |
| TARGETS | main part of a neighborhood, you should be surrounded by |
| | numerous shops, restaurants, etc. Whichever of these |
| | businesses is under enemy control will provide you with |
| | your source of gangsters to use. If you are attempting the |
| | execution in a tunnel or anywhere else without businesses |
| | nearby (like my suggested location, Canal Street), or |
| | simply aren’t having luck in the cityscape, your best bet |
| | is to use racket trucks. Enemy gang cars that come after |
| | you when you steal their money can also be used, but their |
| | occupants are usually much tougher. |
| | |
| Strategy: | Finally, the technique. If you’re in the city, find your |
| TECHNIQUE | target business, kill all of the gangsters in the area |
| | except for one. He will be your victim. If you are using |
| | racket trucks (recommended), get to your location and wait |
| | for an enemy racket truck to drive by. Fire at the truck a |
| | few times to stop it (don’t destroy it, just a few shots |
| | will do). Kill the first enemy quickly, then PUT AWAY your |
| | weapon and rush the second enemy. Grab him and throw/push |
| | him out of the way. This should stun him for a while and |
| | give you time to operate. Draw your weapon again and wait |
| | for the driver to exit. Immediately shoot him until he |
| | dies. Yes, this may seem cruel and unnecessary, but let me |
| | assure you that a driver who fights back at you and |
| | accidentally punches your victim to death is just as |
| | irritating as an interfering cop. Now, holster your weapon |
| | again and run back to the second gangster (the one you |
| | didn’t kill). This is your victim. |
| | |
| | Make sure your weapon is holstered and grab your victim. |
| | If he’s strong enough, you can kneecap him so that you |
| | don’t have to take quite as much damage while getting |
| | within melee range. Once you’ve grabbed him, start |
| | punching him until his health is fairly low. You can |
| | continue to damage him until his health is critical (the |
| | health bar turns red), if you want. At critical health, a |
| | successful traffic hit is guaranteed to be lethal, but |
| | he’ll also die if you miss. At low (but not critical) |
| | health, a traffic hit SHOULD kill him, but if you miss, he |
| | might survive, giving you another try. It’s really your |
| | choice. Either way, you need to dish out a fair amount of |
| | damage to your victim. |
| | |
| | Once your victim is at the desired health level, start |
| | dragging him around. If you’re on a one-way street or in a |
| | tunnel, get to the sidewalk/side of the road. If you’re on |
| | a street that goes both ways, you may have better luck |
| | walking right along the middle lane divide. Get a ways |
| | away from the racket truck (if you used one), making sure |
| | NOT to pick up the large money bag from the guard (first |
| | enemy), as this causes gangsters to come after you. Once |
| | in a while, your victim should break your grab. As soon as |
| | he does this, just grab him again. If he draws a weapon, |
| | it’s essential that you get a hold of him immediately. If |
| | he tries to punch you, he’s not much of a threat. You can |
| | block his punch, run circles around him, etc. Either way, |
| | every time your victim tries to escape, simply grab him |
| | again. |
| | |
| | Next, you need to wait for a car. Sometimes, there is |
| | plenty of traffic flowing freely in both directions. Other |
| | times, the streets are empty, no matter where or how far |
| | you drag your victim. If this latter situation is the case |
| | for you, there isn’t much I can say. The game can be |
| | frustratingly stubborn with this, but I’ve found that |
| | spinning a full 360 degrees (while still holding your |
| | victim) occasionally spawns a few new cars. Either way, |
| | you want to continue to move along the road away from |
| | where you started. |
| | |
| | Once cars finally start moving towards you, swing your |
| | victim about 45 degrees to the side, so that you can get a |
| | better look down the road at the oncoming traffic. Edge as |
| | close to the traffic as you can get without causing the |
| | cars to stop. Now for the actual maneuver that kills your |
| | victim, although you can use the spin toss, I’ve had |
| | better luck using the push toss (walk forwards with a |
| | grabbed enemy and release the grab while moving). |
| | |
| | When you see a car approaching, judge its speed and |
| | distance, swing your victim back so that you’re facing the |
| | opposite side of the road, and release about half a second |
| | before the car comes by. If you did it correctly, the |
| | gangster should stumble backwards into the street and be |
| | hit and killed by the car. |
| | |
| | Unfortunately, the situation does not always play out this |
| | ideally. If you push your victim too early, he will fall |
| | backwards and hit the ground, dying before the car reaches |
| | him. If you’re too late, he’ll hit the side of the car as |
| | if he hit a solid wall. Even if he hits the corner |
| | (headlight area) of the car, and/or flips into the air, |
| | you still might not get credit. I hate to say it, but the |
| | only way to accurately judge the timing is practice. |
| | Personally, I always found that I needed to push my victim |
| | a split second earlier than I thought. |
| | |
| Strategy: | Now, some common confusions, misperceptions, etc. |
| MICRO FAQ | |
| | The traffic must be moving, you cannot simply push an |
| | enemy into a stationary car. They must fall in front of |
| | the moving vehicle such that it runs into them. |
| | Furthermore, you have to push/toss them into this car. |
| | Contrary to what you may have read, you CANNOT simply hold |
| | your victim in the path of traffic. I have stood on the |
| | sidewalk, holding a gangster such that the car driving by |
| | scraped him. He flipped out of my hands and died, but I |
| | did not get credit for the execution style. |
| | |
| | Note (thanks to Maddy Roth and The_Gambinos): Just as with |
| | some other executions, such as "Stained Glass," gunfire |
| | that knocks an enemy backwards into the execution may |
| | still give you credit. While this seems highly unlikely, |
| | you might as well try it if all other strategies are |
| | failing you. |
| | |
| | As with any execution style, only enemy gangsters count. |
| | Despite what seems to be suggested from one of my reader |
| | strategies, RACKET TRUCK DRIVERS DO NOT COUNT, they are |
| | civilians. Now, if you just want to practice, civilians |
| | make great victims. They already have low health, they |
| | don’t fight back, and they are easy to find. If you bribe |
| | a few cops to look the other way, you can practice this |
| | execution style on civilians all day long. Once you’ve got |
| | your technique down cold, try to actually get "credit" for |
| | it by using gangsters. |
| | |
| Strategy: | Note: If you thought that this execution was difficult |
| END-GAME | under normal circumstances, you don’t even want to imagine |
| | it if you wait until after you’re Don or Don of NYC. Even |
| | with a constant supply of enemy gangsters to work with, |
| | you can struggle to get a Traffic Accident Execution. When |
| | only a handful of enemies are left in the game, and |
| | they’re all in pre-determined locations, far away from |
| | most roads or traffic, you’re going to have a very |
| | difficult time getting this execution style. |
| |____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy: | User submitted method (thanks to Gregg): |
| USER METHOD 1 | |
| | "Complete all styles early for an easy $150,000, |
| | Trcuk Hi-jacks are/may be easier early in the game. |
| | |
| | It is correct to pay the cops and test this method on poor |
| | civilians. After practicing...a great place to find a bad |
| | guy is in the tunnels going to Jersey. |
| | |
| | Hijack a truck into one of the tunnel pull over areas. Do |
| | not block traffic. Traffic must be moving along. DO NOT |
| | BLOW UP TRUCK, this kills the driver. Take care of the 2 |
| | gaurds, DO NOT PICK UP THE MONEY ( picking up money is |
| | what brings the shooting car ) |
| | |
| | Grab the driver, reduce his health down to 1/4, then start |
| | running away from him, run to a point where traffic is |
| | flowing, The driver will chase you. |
| | |
| | Whne you get to side of the road, with traffic flowing, |
| | grab him, and do the release/throw, and time the |
| | release/throw to throw the poor victim into a |
| | car.....VIOLA.....$150,000 cash. |
| | |
| | THIS IS THE HARDEST, but this method made it easy." |
| |____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy: | User submitted method (thanks to Nathan Adney): |
| USER METHOD 2 | |
| | "With the "Traffic Accident" execution, it helped me a lot |
| | to go into a tunnel, any one will do, and pull off the |
| | road. Then I’d get out and wait for any delivery truck to |
| | go by. Shoot the truck until it stops and the mobsters get |
| | out. Then you can either shoot one mobster and the driver, |
| | wound the other and try for the execution, or keep |
| | shooting the truck until it blows up. |
| | |
| | Most of the time for me, at least one mobster was left |
| | alive after the truck exploded, and he was plenty stunned |
| | so I could go over and grab him. The tunnels provide an |
| | ideal enviroment for this because there’s no cops, no |
| | idiot passerby to get in the way, and plenty of moving |
| | traffic. |
| | |
| | Just thought that might help someone else. Traffic |
| | Accident is defintely the most difficult execution." |
| |____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy: | User submitted method (thanks to Stavros Tsitiridis) |
| USER METHOD 3 | |
| | "I found by accident a very nice spot for the execution in |
| | question. It is on the very left side of the global map,in |
| | NEW JERSEY,on the corner of OBSERVER HIGHWAY and MARSHALL |
| | STREET,in front of the barber shop which of course must be |
| | in STRACCI hands before you attempt the execution,so if |
| | you already aquired this shop, you could try to find a |
| | similar corner,although I can’t suggest one since I |
| | haven’t looked that hard for another one.So look for the |
| | STRACCI gangster(if he isn’t in the shop,he usually is in |
| | the little alley right next to the shop).Beat him some, |
| | then grab and drag him to the point on the edge of the |
| | pavement where it starts to bend, with your back facing the |
| | barber shop.Let go of Right Trigger and while holding Left |
| | Trigger push Left Thumbstick forward when a vehicle |
| | approaches. You should be able to succeed after two or |
| | three tries." |
| |____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy: | User submitted method (thanks to Luke Martin) |
| USER METHOD 4 | |
| | "I actually found this execution very easy and completed |
| | it in my first attempt. I just went to a business and |
| | shot all but one of the the guys on the street then |
| | sprinted up to the last one and grabbed him. Drag him |
| | into the road so you stop and are facing oncoming traffic |
| | while holding him. Beat or strangle him to near death |
| | while letting a line of traffic form(2 minimum). Then |
| | drag him to either side of the traffic so that it starts |
| | moving again and side toss him in between 2 cars. Because |
| | traffic was stopped they will be close to each other and |
| | moving slow. |
| | |
| | I used this technique several times in New Jersey without |
| | fail but found it more difficult in Little Italy. With |
| | this method visibility is not a problem and timing is |
| | quite easy. I also tested the impact point requirements |
| | several times and it looked like they can hit the side of |
| | the car around the front tire and still count(I never |
| | actually managed to get anyone hit by the bumper). |
| | |
| | I am playing on Xbox and don’t know how the impact point |
| | relates to other systems but for me the blood splatter |
| | always appeared behind the headlight and above the front |
| | half of the tire." |
| |____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy: | "Traffic Accident" is without a doubt the most difficult |
| FINAL WORDS | and frustrating of the execution styles in this game. |
| | While I’ve tried to outline an effective strategy, you |
| | should still expect to struggle with this one. Keep |
| | trying, and eventually you will get it. |

| Strategy | This style is similar to the Hard Head Execution in that |
| | it isn’t that difficult, but is a tactic you’d usually use |
| | against store owners rather than the gangsters guarding |
| | them. Also similar to the Hard Head Execution, the |
| | explanation for how to do a wall slam is found in the |
| | mission "A Grave Situation." Just grab and enemy and push |
| | them back against the wall. While still holding them, |
| | repeatedly hit forwards to slam them into the wall. In |
| | order to get this execution style, you must kill them by |
| | doing a wall slam. Again, you may opt to damage them with |
| | other methods and then just finish them off with this |
| | move, as the wall slam itself does very little damage. |
| | Whatever you choose, be aware that this is another style |
| | where you want to be alone with your target, rather than |
| | in the middle of a massive brawl or firefight. |

- Watch Your Step Execution -

_____________________________________________________________________________
| | |
| Name | Watch Your Step Execution |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Platforms | PC, PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox, Xbox 360 |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Description | Kill an enemy by throwing them out a two-story window or |
| | off a roof, railing, or ledge |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Triggered | No |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | A two-story window or a two (or higher)-story ledge, |
| | railing, or rooftop |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | This style is almost identical to the Stained Glass |
| | Execution. The only difference is that this one must be |
| | off a two or higher story window, roof, ledge, etc. This |
| | has both its advantages and disadvantages. The advantage |
| | is that the fall is a guaranteed kill, so you don’t need |
| | to weaken your target ahead of time. The downside is that |
| | it’s much harder to find gangsters within close proximity |
| | of a high ledge. Your best bets are either in two-story |
| | clubs (such as The Continental), or in three-story rackets |
| | (with an elevator to the top). Other than that, follow the |
| | strategies for the Stained Glass Execution outlined above. |
| | Again, this one will become very difficult if you have no |
| | gangsters remaining (without hunting after ambush |
| | locations). |

- Wrenched Execution -

_____________________________________________________________________________
| | |
| Name | Wrenched Execution |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Platforms | PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Description | Kill a kneeling enemy using the execution trigger and a |
| | lead pipe |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Triggered | Yes - Kneeling |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Lead Pipe |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | As you can probably guess, this is the kneeling variant of |
| | the "Pipe Down Execution." Just as with this (or any of |
| | the other triggered melee executions), it’s as simple as |
| | getting the necessary weapon, attacking a foe, then |
| | pressing the trigger to finish them off. As previously |
| | mentioned, nearly all of your purchased safehouses should |
| | come with a lead pipe. With the weapon in hand, go after |
| | any gangster and start attacking. Once they fall to their |
| | knees, execute them with the trigger. |
| | |
| | As is the case with many of these styles, enemies are |
| | occasionally stubborn, refusing to fall down, regardless |
| | of how many times you hit them. While you could |
| | theoretically switch to a gun, kneecap them, then switch |
| | back to execute, it’s far easier to just find another |
| | enemy and try again. All in all, this is not a challenging |
| | execution style at all. |

| Strategy | Given how this is the last of the twelve triggered melee |
| | executions, I really shouldn’t have to explain how it’s |
| | done. If nothing else, the description should really tell |
| | you all you need to know. Just get a baseball bat from any |
| | of your safehouses, then start pummeling an enemy |
| | gangster. When he’s sufficiently damaged (but before he |
| | falls to his knees), press the execution trigger to finish |
| | him off. |

_______________
- Data Tables -
_______________
In this section, I’ve condensed all the core information about each execution
style into a table. However informative this may be, it is no substitute for
the detailed strategies described in the previous sections.
"P" stands for "platform," and describes which versions of the game support
this execution style:
A: All platforms
6: 6th generation platforms (PS2, Xbox, and for the sake of this
guide, PC) only
7: 7th generation platforms (PS3, Wii, Xbox 360) only
W: Nintendo Wii only
A more detailed explanation can be found in the "Platform Directory" section of
this guide. Most other abbreviations in this table should be self explanatory.
If not, consult the expanded entry in the respective section.

Since a large proportion of the executions involve weapons, I thought it would
also be useful to list them out in a format that better illustrates this. More
specifically, most of the weapon executions have a normal (untriggered), a
standing triggered (S) and a kneeling triggered style (K).

- Checklists -
______________
As if I don’t already have enough lists of all these execution styles, I’m
about to provide three more. If you don’t want a confusing table, poorly
formatted and filled with useless information, but still want to keep track of
which executions you have and haven’t performed, a checklist is for you.
Remember that you can check on which execution styles you’ve achieved by going
to Tom’s Report, then going to the executions screen from the menu. Still, if
you feel the need for a physical checklist, or maybe just want the execution
styles alphabetized, here you go:

This small explanation really belongs in the FAQ section, but it just seems too
important to relegate to a place where it could be easily overlooked (even
though it’s just as easily missed here...). Anyway, the point here is that some
of the execution styles that are present in all versions of the game, but not
identical on each platform (marked with double asterisks in the platform
directory) create immense confusion. People on message boards and elsewhere on
the internet argue with conviction that some style MUST be done a certain way.
While they are correct for their own version of the game, someone reading their
explanation may steered completely in the wrong direction. In this section, I
will address all of the execution styles that may create confusion because of
platform differences. Confusion merely from needing a good strategy to perform
the execution can be remedied by simply going to the entry for the style in
question.
_______________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________
PC/PS2/Xbox Versions PS3/Wii/Xbox 360 Versions
_______________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________
-> Barehanded Kneeling Execution
Blackhand Grapple Execution ------------> -> Barehanded Standing Execution
-> Blackhand Grapple Execution
The default Blackhand Grapple Execution (killing a target while grappling)
remains the same across all platforms. However, in the PC/PS2/Xbox versions of
the game, you can also get this execution style by using the execution
trigger on a standing or kneeling enemy. In the PS3/Wii/Xbox 360 versions,
doing so will instead net you the Barehanded Standing or Barehanded Kneeling
Execution, respectively.
_______________________________________________________________________________
-> Faceoff Execution
Faceoff Execution ---------------------->
-> Riddled With Lead Execution
In the PC/PS2/Xbox versions, "Faceoff" is achieved by using the execution
trigger on a kneeling enemy while holding a large weapon (shotgun or Tommy
gun). For the PS3/Wii/Xbox 360 versions, this execution style is simply split
into two, one for each weapon. Performing this execution with a shotgun
retains the name "Faceoff," while using a Tommy gun becomes "Riddled With
Lead."
_______________________________________________________________________________
-> Magnum Execution
-> Pistol Execution
Firearm Execution ----------------------> -> Revolver Execution
-> Shotgun Execution
-> Tommy Gun Execution
This one isn’t actually that confusing, but it’s worth noting anyway. In the
PC/PS2/Xbox version, killing an enemy with any firearm (normally, without an
execution trigger), yields you the Firearm Execution. For the PS3/Wii/Xbox 360
versions, the firearm execution is replaced by five new styles, one for each
weapon. These are still basic (non-triggered) kills. The only confusion arises
from the pistol execution, which is not at all the same between versions.
Scroll down to the relevant section to see what I’m talking about.
_______________________________________________________________________________
-> Chin Up Execution
-> Clavicle Crush Execution
-> Crooked Cop Execution
-> Double Play Execution
-> How’s Your Leg Execution
-> Melee Weapon Execution
Grand Slam Execution -------------------> -> Neck Boned Execution
-> Neck Kink Execution
-> Pipe Down Execution
-> Protect Ya Neck Execution
-> Sicilian Candle Execution
-> Wrenched Execution
-> You’re Out Exectuion
The PC/PS2/Xbox version has only a single execution style dedicated to melee
weapons. If you kill someone with a baseball bat, whether normally, triggered
standing, or triggered kneeling, you are awarded the Grand Slam Execution. In
the PS3/Wii/Xbox 360 versions, this has been directly replaced by the Melee
Weapon Execution (kill an enemy with a melee weapon). However, the Melee Weapon
Execution must be UNTRIGGERED. The other 12 execution styles listed above are
all various combinations of melee weapons and triggers. For example, use the
execution trigger on a kneeling enemy while holding a tire iron (Neck Boned
Execution).
_______________________________________________________________________________
-> Head Strong Execution
Gut Shot Execution --------------------->
-> Gut Shot Execution
This bit of possible confusion is almost perfectly analogous to the issue with
the Faceoff Execution. Here, the PC/PS2/Xbox’s "Gut Shot" requires use of an
execution trigger on a standing enemy while holding a large weapon (shogun or
Tommy gun). For the PS3/Wii/Xbox 360 version, a separate style exists for
both of these weapons. The one using a shotgun retains the name "Gut Shot,"
and use of a Tommy gun nets you a "Head Strong Execution."
Also note that neither of these "Gut Shot" Executions involve shooting an
enemy’s gut pressure point. This is somewhat counterintuitive given other
styles like "Disarmed" and "Kneecapped."
_______________________________________________________________________________
-> Foot in Mouth Execution
Hats Off Execution ---------------------> -> Hats Off Execution
-> Look at Me Execution
The PC/PS2/Xbox version’s "Hats Off" requires the use of an execution trigger
on a kneeling enemy while holding a handgun (magnum, pistol, revolver). Just
like the Faceoff and Gut Shot Executions, the PS3/Wii/Xbox 360 version simply
splits this up into three separate styles, one for each weapon. Using a magnum
gives you the execution "Foot in Mouth." The kneeling, triggered pistol
execution remains "Hats Off" and a revolver will get you the "Look at Me
Execution."
_______________________________________________________________________________
-> Back of the Head Execution
Pistol Execution -----------------------> -> Between the Eyes Execution
-> Taste My Chamber Execution
Pistol Execution (PC/PS2/Xbox) =/= Pistol Execution (PS3/Wii/Xbox 360)
This is just like the issue with "Hats Off." The PC/PS2/Xbox version has a
single execution style for using a trigger on a standing enemy while holding a
handgun. In the PS3/Wii/Xbox 360 version, they made three separate ones, one
for each weapon. However, it’s not that simple. Unlike "Faceoff," "Gut Shot,"
or "Hats Off," "Pistol Execution" does not retain its meaning at all. None of
the three PS3/Wii/Xbox 360 version executions are called "Pistol Execution."
Instead, "Pistol Execution" is awarded for simply killing an enemy (non-
triggered) with the pistol. See "Firearm Execution" above to see what I’m
talking about. Here are some more clarifying descriptions:
Pistol Execution (PS3/Wii/Xbox 360): Kill an enemy using the pistol (normally,
without an execution trigger).
Pistol Execution (PC/PS2/Xbox): Use the execution trigger on a standing enemy
while holding a handgun (magnum, pistol or revolver).
Back of the Head Execution (PS3/Wii/Xbox 360): Use the execution trigger on a
standing enemy while holding a pistol.
Between the Eyes Execution (PS3/Wii/Xbox 360): Use the execution trigger on a
standing enemy while holding a revolver.
Taste My Chamber Execution (PS3/Wii/Xbox 360): Use the execution trigger on a
standing enemy while holding a magnum.

***********************************************************************[05-FAQ]
******** F R E Q U E N T L Y A S K E D Q U E S T I O N S ( F A Q ) ********
*******************************************************************************
Many of these questions are not attributed to a specific author, since they’ve
been asked by a number of people on the message boards, or because I made them
up myself. So without further ado, the questions:
_______________________________________________________________________________
Q: Why am I not getting "credit" for doing this execution? I’m doing it exactly
like you said to.
A: This is one of the most important things that many people don’t seem to
know. EXECUTIONS ONLY COUNT IF THEY ARE PERFORMED ON ENEMY GANGSTERS. Using
these styles on civilians, police officers, or anyone else DOES NOT COUNT. I’ve
gotten a few to register when used on bank security officers, but this may just
be a glitch. While you can practice on civilians (you might want to bribe the
cops first), always use enemy gangsters when attempting to get (register) a new
execution style. Note that the Xbox 360 (and I assume the PS3 and Wii) version
of the game also keep track of your executions on civilians and cops. Do not be
misled, however, as the fact remains that only executions on enemies "count."
Note (thanks to Rob Owens): Doctors from the numerous clinics scattered around
New York may also count for executions.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Q: I’ve already become Don or Don of NYC. I’ve already taken over all
businesses, warehouses and hubs, and destroyed all family compounds. There are
no more gangsters for me to kill. How to I get the last remaining execution
style(s) I’m missing?
A: Even if you’ve taken over all of New York, you should still be able to find
gangsters in a few places. Although you may own everything in the city,
gangsters still can appear in pre-scripted "ambushes." Normally, you’d want to
avoid ambushes, but in this case, you’ll be seeking them out. For a list of all
ambushes I’d suggest you check out the official strategy guide, or KS Yeung’s
Random Encounters FAQ.
Find it here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox/file/920131/43442
Here are a few tips for ambushes:
1. Always work at night - the percentage chance of an ambush
is usually higher (sometimes the same) at night than in
the daytime. Unlike during normal play, you WANT to be
ambushed.
2. Seek out black market merchants. Many ambushes occur
after purchasing weapons or ammunition from black market
merchants. You’ll often hear a "You were followed!", and
suddenly be assaulted by numerous gangsters.
3. Choose the ambush based on the execution style(s) you
need to complete. For example, if you still need to get
Over Cooked Execution, try to find an ambush that will be
close to a bakery.
4. Use the last gangster of the ambush - unless you have a
very easy execution style remaining, you should only
attempt the execution on the last remaining gangster, so
as not to be interfered with by others.
5. Avoid family members and family fights - Although family
fights do allow for an ambush with enemy gangsters, it
means that you’ll be fighting alongside Corleones. Again,
though you’d normally want this, in this case, you really
need to be left alone. This is especially true if you’re
attempting a difficult and/or engrossing execution style
(e.g. Traffic Accident Execution). Nearby Corleone
gangsters will try to "aid" you by shooting at your
target; not at all what you want. As such, try to take
"ambushes" instead of "family fights" if you can, and
move your gangster targets out of range of nearby
Corleones. The difficulty of this may increase
dramatically with certain styles, such as Over Cooked
Execution, that require you to be in a business (with an
oven).
6. Know your execution style - practice on civilians, cops,
or whoever you can, before hand. If you don’t have your
style down cold before you attempt it "for real," you
might end up blowing your one good opportunity.
Take those notes into consideration when you’re planning your own ambush (it
seems pretty strange, doesn’t it).
Note (thanks to ANIK): You can also hijack cars to find enemy gangsters.
Although the probability is low, every once in a while, you pull an enemy from
the car, rather than a random civilian. While this may be difficult to use if
you have a very engrossing execution style left, it certainly can’t hurt.
While I haven’t confirmed it completely, I know that you can get some (perhaps
all) of the execution styles to count by using them on bank security guards.
This is simply another alternative that you can try if you have no more
gangsters to "use."
_______________________________________________________________________________
Q: Why should I care about doing these executions? What’s in it for me?
A: Execution styles are one aspect of the game’s "collectables." If you’re
seeking a 100% game rating, you need to get all of them. Even if you’re only
going for the minimum required to get Don of NYC, they could serve as the
small percentage boost you need. Additionally, doing some of these special
execution styles gets you a greater amount of respect than from killing a
gangster through normal means. Perhaps most important, especially if you
complete them all early on in the game, is the reward you receive if you get
all the styles. As soon as you complete the last execution style, the screen
will fade to black, giving you a screen much like a post-mission report. You
will receive:
100,000 Respect This alone is enough to get you from level 1-13
$150,000 Especially if you get this early on in the
game, (and even later on for many players),
$150,000 is quite a bit of money. It can help
you save up for that upgraded weapon or Midtown
safehouse that you’ve got your eye on.
For the Xbox 360 version, there are also two achievements directly related to
executions:
Assassin (10G) - Earn 5 Execution styles
Executioner (40G) - Complete ALL Execution Styles
Furthermore, the added respect and money from completing these executions can
help you towards reaching many of the other achievements, such as:
First Sign of Respect (5G) - Reach Respect Level 10
Gaining Respect (10G) - Reach Respect Level 20
Making an Impression (15G) - Reach Respect Level 30
Demanding Respect (20G) - Reach Respect Level 40
Jack of All Trades (25G) - Reach Respect Level 45
Public Enemy Number One (50G) - Reach Respect Level 50
The Don (25G) - Reach Don Rank
Don of NYC (50G) - Reach Don of NYC Rank
That’s a total of 250 gamerpoints that execution styles can help you acquire.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Q: Other than when they flash on the screen the first time I do them, how do I
see my executions? Is there a list that keeps track of them somewhere?
A: Yes. Pause the game and go to Tom’s Report. Go to the Rap Sheet tab. From
the list, select the executions sub-menu. Here, you will see a list of all the
executions. The ones you’ve already completed will have a checkmark next to
them.
In the Xbox 360 version (and I assume the PS3 and Wii versions as well), you
can also see the number of times you’ve completed each execution style on
enemies, cops and innocents. Do not be confused by this information, though, as
only executions performed on enemies "count" (see the first FAQ question).
_______________________________________________________________________________
Q: Can I get more than one execution style from a single kill?
A: No. For example, let’s say that you have not yet achieved either "Revolver
Execution" or "Sure Shot Execution." If you kill an enemy with a single shot,
you will most likely be awarded "Sure Shot," but not get "Revolver." The same
applies with triggered executions. If you want the basic form of an execution,
it has to not only be untriggered, but also be free from another execution that
may override it.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Q: I have The Godfather on a PS2/PS3/Wii/Xbox/Xbox 360. How do I strangle
someone? How do I execute (trigger)?
A: I’ve gotten a ridiculous number of e-mails from people essentially asking
for the controls to their game. Most of these are obvious questions easily
answerable by looking at the instruction manual or online. However, some
controls are a little less clearly explained. The two most common control
questions are the strangle and the execution trigger.
Strangle:
PC - X key while grappling (LMB + RMB)
PS2 - L3 + R3 while grappling (L1 + R1)
PS3 - L3 + R3 while grappling (L1 + R1)
Wii - Move both controllers away from each other, then back together
while grappling (Z + B)
Xbox - LS + RS (click) while grappling (LT + RT)
Xbox 360 - LS + RS (click) while grappling (LT + RT)
Execution Trigger:
PC - V key
PS2 - R2
PS3 - R2
Wii - Various motions, as indicated onscreen
Xbox - Black Button
Xbox 360 - RB
_______________________________________________________________________________
Q: I read in someone else’s guide that ________ execution is done a different
way than what you said. Who’s correct?
A: I too have read information in other people’s guides that I’m pretty sure is
incorrect. I have the PC version and have played through the Xbox 360 version,
so I can vouch for the validity of their respective data. The Wii (and
Wii-only) executions are the only ones that I can’t make many guarantees about.
Still, the majority of this confusion probably stems from some of the
executions that exist in all versions of the game, but are not performed the
same. For example, the Blackhand Grapple, Faceoff, Gut Shot and Pistol
Executions. If you are at all uncertain about these platform differences,
please take a look at the section of this guide entitled, "Matters of Immense
Confusion." Aside from the console differences, other common inaccuracies
include:
Grand Slam Execution (PC/PS2/Xbox only): Many other guides claim that you must
use an execution trigger and the baseball bat to get this style. I have found
(and tested) that you just have to kill a gangster with a baseball bat. You do
not have to use the trigger. However, you do "get credit" for the execution if
you choose to use the trigger. It’s up to you.
Hard Head Execution: Contrary to what I’ve read in one post (I can’t remember
where), Hard Head Execution does NOT use an execute trigger.
Firearm Execution (PC/PS2/Xbox only): I read somewhere that you needed to use a
large (two-handed) firearm for this one. That’s incorrect. Any sized firearm
will do the trick.
Many of the triggered melee executions (PS3/Wii/Xbox 360 only) are listed on
one site as being triggered-standing and elsewhere as triggered-kneeling, or
even with both triggers as standing. While I suppose different versions of the
game could have flipped this around, it seems more likely that it’s simply a
typo. I’m fairly confident that all my standing/kneeling classifications are
correct. Still, if you’re unsure or I seem to be mistaken, just try both.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Q: Many of the executions say that I have to throw someone at, into, or through
something. How do I do this?
A: You can throw someone two different ways: A side toss, or a push directly
forwards.
To do the side toss:
1. Grab a gangster (left and right mouse buttons together)
2. Spin them left or right (while holding down buttons, drag mouse to the
left or right)
3. While spinning them (while in motion), release both buttons
To do the push toss:
1. Grab a gangster
2. Push them forwards (hold (don’t just tap) fowards (W))
3. While in motion, release both mouse buttons.
Sorry, but I don’t know the equivalent controls for the console versions. The
game’s first mission should explain the dynamics of the combat system and my
descriptions simply provide more specific detail as to what you need to do for
many of these executions.
Although each of these toss styles have their uses, the most effective method
for executions like "Over Cooked," "Stained Glass" and "Watch Your Step" is to
push the enemy up against the surface/object, then press forward (or up on the
right stick) again to throw them over.
If you have to use a toss/throw, I’d recommend the push toss for most execution
styles. Using that style, the enemy goes directly in front of you, rather than
off to the side at an angle (if you had used a side toss). For executions such
as "Over Cooked" and "Traffic Accident," I’d use the push toss. For "Stained
Glass" and "Watch Your Step," either will do just fine.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Q: When you say that the Revolver, Pistol, Magnum, Shotgun, or Tommy Gun is
required, can I use the upgraded versions?
A: Yes. Although the upgraded versions of each weapon do more damage, have a
larger clip, or are better in some other way, the game treats them the same as
far as executions go. You can just as well use a Saturday Night Special as you
can use the base level 1 revolver.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Q: What’s an execution trigger? How does it work?
A: Execution triggers are key to performing a great number of the execution
styles covered in this guide. Furthermore, they are valuable tools in quickly
and efficiently dispatching your foes. Essentially, when you hurt an enemy
significantly, causing him to stumble/recoil, you have an opportunity to
execute him with a single press of a button (since the command IS actually a
button on many of the platforms, "trigger" may be a bit of a confusing
misnomer). If they are in this recoiling state and you are nearby (within arm’s
length), press the "execute" button (see a few questions up if you are unsure
of what the button is for your version of the game). The execution you perform
is determined by what weapon (or lack thereof) you have in your hands and by
whether your enemy is standing or kneeling.
Some pieces of advice about these factors: If you need to get an execution
style with a certain weapon, your best bet is to try to use that same weapon to
stun the enemy into the "executable" state. Although you can sometimes get away
with using a different weapon to stun them, then switching to your desired
weapon for the execution, this is not ideal. In general, it’s far easier to
stick with the same weapon for all parts of the kill.
Secondly, be aware of what differentiates a "standing" versus "kneeling" enemy.
Repeated shots to the upper torso will usually stun an enemy into "standing."
If that enemy is crouching (usually behind cover) and he is hit, he may go into
the "kneeling" stun instead. To make a standing enemy kneel to be executed,
your best bet is to attempt to kneecap them or simply focus your fire towards
their lower torso. Also note that if a standing enemy is in the process of
falling to his knees, if you are quick, you can kill him with a standing
execution if you hit the trigger before his knees hit the ground.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Q: When should I be doing these executions? What is the ideal time to be
finished with half of them? With all of them?
A: Although you can really do these executions at any time, I’d say the earlier
the better. Most importantly, don’t leave them until the VERY end of the game.
Although you can get them after becoming Don, it will be very difficult, as you
will have to search far and wide for enemy gangsters. It really isn’t that hard
to get most, if not all of the executions out of the way very early on. In the
first period the game gives you between story missions (right after basic
training), you can actually get most of these executions complete. You may hold
out a little longer on Over Cooked Execution, Watch Your Step Execution and
Traffic Accident Execution, but most of the rest you can get done quite early
on.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Q: What’s the most difficult execution style?
A: Under normal circumstances, as you’re progressing through the game, I would
say that the Traffic Accident Execution is, hands down, the most difficult
style to achieve. If you reach the rank of Don or Don of NYC and are still
missing execution styles, every execution you don’t have is dramatically harder
to get. At this point, Traffic Accident becomes even more challenging to pull
off, but actually is surpassed in difficulty by certain other styles. Most
notably, Over Cooked Execution and Watch Your Step Execution both require
environmental items (an oven and 2+ story ledge, respectively) that are very
far away from any of the few places enemies still remain once you’ve taken over
New York.
If you have reached this rank and are missing "Traffic Accident," you will have
a very difficult time. If you’re missing "Over Cooked" or "Watch Your Step,"
your challenge will be downright impossible. You can spend hours trying to get
those styles, but unless you know some secret method, you get very lucky, or
you have a save game before you became the Don, you might very well be screwed.
I’m afraid the game was just poorly designed in this area.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Q: How do I do _________ execution style?
A: Come on, the entire first section of this guide is all about how to do each
one. Just read it. Seriously though, if you still can’t understand how to do a
specific execution, or you feel as though it hasn’t been thoroughly explained
in this guide, feel free to send me an e-mail outlining your problem.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Q: Help! I can’t get out of cars and my mouse’s X-axis is inverted. How do I
fix this?
A: Both of these are side-effects of using a flawed "crack" version of the
game. In other words, you pirated the game.
Go out and buy the retail version. I don’t care what country you live in
or how much money you make, piracy is immoral, illegal, and selfish. Even if
you don’t care about the fact that you’re stealing from someone, if you bother
to think ahead, you’ll see the ramifications of piracy. Let me elaborate:
When you steal something (piracy is stealing, plain and simple), that is one
less copy of the product that is sold by a retailer. As a result, you create
sales data that suggests to the retailer (and thus publisher) that the product
is not in as much demand as it may actually be. While in the short-term, this
may simply mean fewer copies of the product at retailers, in the future, the
publisher will use your data to decide that your product is not selling well
enough to continue funding it. Deciding it is a poor investment, the publishers
will be far less likely to support other products by the developers, artists,
creators, etc. and cut their funding. When this happens, remember that YOU ARE
RESPONSIBLE for this downfall, since you stole a copy of the product.
Stealing is stealing, regardless of context. Just because you aren’t physically
taking someone’s possessions, just because you can’t see the face of your
victim, just because "one time won’t hurt anyone" does not mean you aren’t
stealing. Whether it’s smuggling a CD under your jacket or clicking your mouse,
YOU ARE STEALING. Anonymity does not exonerate your behavior. If anything, it
merely emphasizes your cowardice.
I apologize for my rather unprovoked rant, but piracy is a major problem that
poses great economic risk by threatening to undermine some of the largest
business in entertainment.

Although this guide is large, filled with information, and fairly conclusive,
it is not perfect. You’ve probably figured out that I like to be complete
in my analysis of whatever I’m writing about. Meaningful and useful
contributions are welcome. Said (acceptable) contributions are as follows:
-Specific questions about a certain execution style or general questions about
the styles as a whole
-Anything that you think deserves to be in the FAQ section
-Pointed out game-information errors (general errors or typos of mine about
the game)
-Version differences regarding execution styles. This is very important, and
any contributions of this type would be immensely appreciated. I do not need,
however, someone telling me that their PS2 version has different controls from
the Xbox 360 one. I only am concerned with differences in the styles
themselves.
-Reader-submitted tips for completing a specific execution style. If you have a
strategy or technique different from my methods, feel free to submit it.
-Pointed out grammatical, spelling, or line formatting errors, or typos
-Something that has been requested as a contribution in the guide
-Anything else that you think would be a useful addition to this guide. Please
use good judgment when deciding if your contribution is "useful."
In addition, questions about anything in the guide, or anything else that
either wasn’t clear, or wasn’t addressed at all, are welcome. However,
there are some questions that I cannot or will not answer:
I WILL NOT ANSWER QUESTIONS REGARDING TECHNICAL ISSUES, such as why The
Godfather isn’t running on your computer, or why the game freezes at a certain
point.
I WILL NOT ANSWER QUESTIONS REGARDING MODs, or anything that alters the game
script, other than a patch. If you have questions like these, I’d suggest
writing to the mod’s designer or creator.
I WILL NOT ANSWER QUESTIONS REGARDING HACKS, CRACKS, WAREZ, or any other type
of illegal pirating or emulating activities. If you refuse to take heed on
this issue, and do e-mail me a question regarding this, I will not hesitate to
report you to any number of anti-piracy organizations.
When composing your e-mail, be thoughtful and courteous. I’m not expecting you
to write a literary masterpiece, but some consideration and thought into what
you’re writing would be appreciated. Here are some do’s and don’ts:
______
- DO -
______
-Put "Godfather" or "The Godfather" somewhere in the subject line
-Write in English and attempt to employ reasonably decent spelling, grammar,
punctuation, etc. I can appreciate if English is not your first language. Just
try to explain your situation as best you can and I will do my best to
understand.
-Describe your suggestion, question, submission, (etc.) carefully and clearly.
If I don’t understand what you’re saying, then it’s unlikely that I will print
it in this guide.
-Read the FAQ first, and make sure that your question hasn’t already been
answered in one of those questions.
_________
- DON’T -
_________
-Write in a deliberately counterproductive manner, such as by using all caps,
terrible spelling, terrible grammar, languages other than English, excessive
profanity, rudeness, writing in code, writing in 1337, etc.
-Send spam, hate mail, or anything that’s belligerent and/or utterly irrelevant
to The Godfather
-Add me to your address book, buddy list, or any other form of contact/mailing
list.
-Attach a relevant screenshot as an attachment. If you need to show me a
picture as evidence or for whatever reason, use a free image hosting
website such as www.imageshack.us or www.geocities.com or
http://photobucket.com

Assuming your contribution is thoughtful and relevant, it will be added to the
guide as soon as possible. You will be given complete recognition as to the
contribution, unless you state in your e-mail that you want anonymity. With a
few exceptions, your e-mail will remain mostly unaltered from the way it was
sent, so be aware that what you write will probably end up in this guide
almost exactly how you wrote it. However, I have the authority to change or
alter what you wrote, though I will only do this for clarification or
censorship purposes, and I will never claim credit for what someone else did.
If you’d like to contact me, send an email to this address. Replace the "[at]"
with an "@" and the "[dot]" with a "." (remove all quotation marks). This is
to avoid automatic spam bots and similar programs.

- Revision/Update History -
___________________________
Version 1.0 - 4/17/06 - This is the first version of this guide. As the subject
matter it covers is relatively narrow and specific, I don’t expect there to be
more than a few more versions. So far, I’ve created detailed analyses of each
of the 22 execution styles, a few questions for the FAQ, and the other sections
that are required to make this a functional guide (Legal, Contributions and
Contact, etc.).
Version 1.1 - 4/18/06 - This is a relatively small update. I’ve added a note
about the Mafia Union and fixed a few errors here and there. Also, I added the
entry for "Data Table" into the table of contents (I had somehow left it out
before).
Version 1.2 - 4/19/06 - This is an even smaller update. I’ve added a few
additional websites to the legal hosts list, and I’ve also updated the Mafia
Union members list. Other than that and a few assorted corrections throughout
the guide, nothing’s really changed.
Version 1.3 - 4/27/06 - A relatively...well...medium update. The FAQ section
has been enlarged, and I’ve added an extensive table to help out Don of NYC’s
who have no more gangsters to kill. I’ve also added new Mafia Union members and
more legal hosts for this guide.
Version 1.4 - 7/10/06 - It’s been quite a while since an update. In this
version, I read, answered, and added the information from approximately 30 e-
mails regarding this guide. I also added dlh.net as a legal host. No other
major updates at this time.
Version 1.5 - 8/24/07 - This is a major, major, MAJOR update. First and
foremost, I’ve added all the information for the 25 additional execution styles
found in the PS3/Xbox 360 versions and the 29 extra ones for the Wii. Along
with this, I added a "platform" section to each execution style and a table
summarizing all this information. Secondly, I’ve completely redone the look of
the information about each style by using a new format. I removed the
"missions" and "difficulty" entry for each execution, as they both seemed
unnecessary and poorly developed. I recapped all the guide’s information into
multiple data tables and checklists. Also, for ease of use, I put all the
execution styles in alphabetical order, instead of the way the game orders
them. Other than that, there are normal updates and revisions such as the
copyright, fixing small typos, etc.
Version 1.6 - 3/24/08 - Very minor update. One allowed host added. Copyright
and similar information updated. Not much else.

_______________
- Coming Soon -
_______________
Note:
This is most likely the final version of this guide (excluding minor updates).
However, if significant content changes are made, they will most likely be in
these areas:
-More information on each execution style
-More Reader submitted tips and alternate strategies for how to get
certain execution styles
-More questions and answers for the FAQ
-A variety of additional information (other stuff)

Thanks for reading my guide. I hope it was as fun and informative for you as
it was for me. Regardless of what you learned or found, I’m pleased that you
took the time to take a look at my guide. Maybe you learned something. Maybe
you didn’t. All I was trying to do while writing this, was get a half-decent
guide out there that would help someone else enjoy this game as much as I
have.
Until next time,
-Bloviator
