Black Friday is upon us, and with it comes the undeniable draw of good deals. TGR knows the sort of trouble this day can be if we walk into it unprepared, so we’ve taken it upon ourselves here at the Bargain Bin to craft a list of some of the best deals you’re going to find this Friday. Just try not to knock over too many Grandmothers on your way to the gaming section; their hips can only take so much punishment.
Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway (PS3, 360)
While certainly not the best shooter on the market, Hell’s Highway is a solid one, featuring some nice squad-based mechanics based around an easy-to-use interface. It has its problems (a generic setting, glitches, etc.), but you’ll probably have fun with it in spite of that fact, and considering its relative newness–it came out just in the past few months–this is a pretty good deal.

Turok (360)
Does anyone recall the classic N64 game, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter? Yeah, this isn’t it. This generation’s attempt at reinvigorating the franchise suffered from a slew of problems that leave it markedly flawed. Nonetheless, Turok still harbors some nice points–you can kill a T-Rex with a knife–and it is an enjoyable game despite some moments of frustration. It may not be for everyone, but for those Black Friday shoppers who happen to like dinosaurs, one could do much worse.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (360)
Resistance 2 might now have a monopoly on ginormous baddies, but Insomniac were hardly the first to give the idea a whirl. Lost Planet featured a slew of huge foes to bring down and by most accounts, it’s a pretty good game. It might not have won any awards, but hey, The Terminator didn’t win an Oscar and it still rocks now doesn’t it?

Assassin’s Creed (360)
If Assassin’s Creed tempted you when we featured it in our recent and aptly named Assassin’s edition of the Bargain Bin, there’s no better time to pick up a copy. Follow Altair as he offs a cadre of Crusade leaders. The game isn’t perfect, but it is easily worth this Friday’s price of admission.

Dead Rising (360)
I love zombies, so Dead Rising continues to tempt me into buying a 360. Those of you already sporting one however might want to take a glance at the game, as it’s reaching a rather affordable price this weekend. And just think, if you do the math, you’re only paying a fraction of a cent for each zombie you kill, or rekill rather, in the game.
Circuit City – $9.99
Conan (360)
Featured in the very first edition of the Bargain Bin, Conan is the definition of a God of War clone, copying Kratos right down to his control scheme. That being said, it is also a blast to play. It doesn’t quite live up to franchise it’s milking, but if you’re looking for a bloody, silly, violent good time, I can think of no better game at a better price than this.

The Orange Box (360)
If you are at all into gaming, I shouldn’t have to tell you of the massively great deal you’re getting in The Orange Box. Originally you were getting five quality titles for the price of one. This Friday you’re getting them twenty bucks. That’s about four dollars a game. Do not pass this up.

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (PSP)
That they were actually able to make this game at all still astounds me. Liberty City Stories is essentially GTA 3 for your PSP. Featuring a new story, the game resides in all the same locales as the classic game, and largely plays exactly the same. This has some hang-ups of course. None of the gameplay improvements of GTA 4 are present, and Liberty City Stories has some control problems unique to itself–aiming can be a pain at times–but it’s still a fun, addictive game that every PSP owner of proper age should invest in.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions (PSP)
This is easily, no questions asked, one of the best titles on the PSP. Featuring dozens of hours of addictive gameplay, a great story, soundtrack, and whole slew of other niceties, War of the Lions is a brilliant game that any RPG fan should own as a matter of principle. It has it’s flaws–the gameplay moves a bit slowly at times–but overall it is just the cream of the crop when it comes to SRPGs.

Well, I hope you enjoyed the list folks, and if these deals don’t satiate your thirst, research more. There is doubtlessly a slew of other great gaming deals out there this Friday and you’d have to be a fool not to take advantage of them.
