Action Pants, a Vancouver based development studio has now been officially acquired by publishing giant Ubisoft. Action Pants reportedly already has a casual Wii game in development. We don’t know much about the acquisition just yet, but it appears as though it will continue to be business as usual at Action Pants, and it doesn’t seem like Ubisoft plans to muck up the works too horribly.
No word yet on what type of game is in development at the studio or whether or not the development will continue post-acquisition. However, according to the company website they founded the company on the premise of producing all original IPs. I seriously doubt that dream will stay in tact now that they are working for Ubisoft.
Puzzle Quest Galactrix Gets Retail Release
The sequel to the most popular puzzle/action/adventure game in history will officially be released in retail stores rather than the previous digital download only plan.
While it’s always good news to hear that a wider range of people will be exposed to good games, I don’t foresee this game having a lot of success at retail. After all “Puzzle Quest” isn’t a series title thought up in marketing heaven.
Lucas Arts Offers New Details on Indiana Jones Game
Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings which was revealed yesterday had the veil taken off, and was revealed to the press today.
In the fine tradition of Indiana, Staff of Kings will be a wide ranging adventure with locations are varied as San Francisco’s Chinatown, to the Panamanian jungle.
The game will be released on Wii, PSP, PS2, and DS, while eschewing the need for a release on one of the high-def systems.
MadWorld, the most highly anticipated game currently on the Wii release schedule just got a firm release date. Speculation was wild, but now we know that the ultra stylish, ultra bloody, ultra brawler will be released on March 10, 2009.
Look forward to seeing MadWorld on your local evening news as ignorant reporters display (and condemn) the hyper-violence to their equally ignorant viewers.
